I have have many silver age that I want to sell. Most are in good to fair condition. Is it even worth it to send them to get graded, or is it not worth the cost? I always thought CGC was only for VG to Mint condition.

Quoted from Pinballmike217:

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I just boxed up a batch to ship off to CGC. I will be putting them on ebay so this is just an experiment to see what happens. I joined CGC at the highest level for the best discount. I decided to sell my Spiderman keys and my list includes AF15, Spidermans 7,8,16,20,25,31,33,37,38,39,41,50,100,101,121,129,300. CGCs' fees added up very fast so I hope this works out.

I have quite a few Spiderman between 13 and 50. These are the ones I was thinking of shipping to CGC. Also have a few golden age DC, some EC, some early Flash, and a few other runs.

How is the silver age collection market at this point? I probably should have sold several years ago as I think those that acquire silver age are getting fewer and fewer, especially for golden age comics.

It's also risky to hold on to them as those that find value in them will be dying off soon, just like what happened to 50's classic cars.

But that's not why I hate this thread. I bought one comic in 1962 for 12 cents and felt pretty good years later when I sold it for a hundred dollars. That mistake will continue to hurt me the rest of my life. The comic was The Amazing Spider-Man number one.

Could have been worse. Could have been Amazing Fantasy #15 or Action #1.
