I started bowling when I was 10 and continued into my late 30's. I was up to 3 leagues per week and averaging in the low 190's. No perfect games but numerous 289's. Damn those solid 8 pins. They changed everything up as far as the lanes, oil, etc,, but it was too late -our City outlawed smoking and the leagues folded like bedsheets. Alleys closed one after another. They have opened some new ones recently but they are all sanitized hipster spots and nothing like I crave. I long for the ole dirty, smoke-filled alley with the delightful background sounds of pins and pool balls breaking.
