    Quoted from MikeS:

But Pinheads aren't exactly nostalgic for Tron Uprising.

I literally didn't know what it was...yet I have owned Tron on Laserdisc.

If I had my own pinball company I would make 80's Nostalgia pins until the cows came home!

Some of those titles you don't even have to start a pinball company to own

    Goonies
    Back to The Future
    Rocky
    Blade Runner
    The Muppet Show
    Top Gun

You could probably reskin a Stern Pirates of the Caribbean to make a Goonies table. A Blade Runner pin would definitely be cool especially with modern tech.

    Quoted from BoJo:

I agree and that's my point. SMVE would have sold a ton based on the classic comics. But for some reason Stern went with Ultimate instead and I keep hearing it was to be current. I fear they would use the same logic and base TronVE on uprising.

The Spider man with classic comics are coming in the SMVE-VE
And I thought you guys had contacts at Stern?

I owned a DE BTTF and it was terrible! If there was ever a theme that deserved to be re-made this is it.

Stern is not going to be releasing VE's fast and furiously, folks. That would endanger the whole house of cards. The only reason why Stern can sell their machines for so much dough is because the used market has remained very high. VE's lower that title's market value, simple and plain. See IM. SMVE is 2K more than IMVE, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will sell many at that price.

Releasing VE's may feel good for Stern short-term, but it's probably not something that they want to do very often or it will kill them. Probably kind of like a heroin addiction.

Per Gary "1 or 2 a year". Add in regular releases and that's plenty enough to keep us pinball nerds saving our pennies.

    #58 3 years ago

Can't we just do Agent Carter?

SM went up since the VE. Because they made a premium style VE and the price was higher then the SM. If they do that to all the VE's it doesn't effect the original's value.

    Both.

TRON LE may as well if they do a TRON VE

I tend to agree. However, always take Gary's word with a grain of salt.

    Quoted from arcademojo:

I haven't noticed. And just because Stern decided that SMVE is a $6400 game, it doesn't mean that it is. If they sell some, then maybe so. And there are a few cool upgrades beyond the standard SM, including cool armor and new art. SM was a 5K game in HUO condition. Some people are justifying going $1400 over for a brand new game, new art, new armor, not hunting around for one, etc.

IMVE was a good deal all around. It was around $4500 brand new, while existing HUO IM's were going for around $5500.

    #68 3 years ago

I made out my check, anyone know Centerflank's address?

    #69 3 years ago

I want a TRON VE. C'mon Stern - open up that vault!

Actually, I can wait for a bit. But don't make it too long - I might just buy a Hobbit instead!

But more likely a SMVE. Or a GOT. Or a ACDC TE. Or a GB. Or a MET RTL. Or any of the Williams remakes.

    Any which way, Stern wins!

In fact I saw a Todd T. video where he said it too

    Quoted from MikeS:

I wonder if they would take a page from the SM Vault playbook and base it on the original movie instead of Legacy?

Here comes the new Tron LE/VE

Flanker and Nip will own em all and sell off for 10k each

    #75 3 years ago

Looks like I need to bail on my LE before market gets swamped with product.

Ok, HUO Tron LE for sale, only $45,035. Sorry, had to include pinside sales fee.

Todd doubled down on his 'rumor' of another TRON run. He must have a trusted insider to declare that twice in separate videos. And if they indeed do another run wouldn't it have to be a VE? Why do it and not put in a few upgrades?

And by upgrades I mean things like improved decal prints and LEDs...

Edit: he refers to his insider as a 'little birdie' lol

Yeah I asked him about that, you can see my comment on his #1111 video. No more info on it, but he does seem fairly certain of it, guess we'll see.

    Quoted from Reality_Studio:

Yes, his attitude seems to be 'you can quote me on it' - it's is going to happen for sure. So, we'll see...Even though deep down I felt Stern would do another TRON - others that are smarter than me on Pinside than have said 'No way'.

I guess that just shows, again, that Stern will do what it wants - and not necessarily what Pinside thinks they should do. And that's that...

    #79 3 years ago

I'd sell my car for a TRON VE. I'd sell my house for one based on 82 TRON.

    #80 3 years ago

Some VEs were made but Todd got them all and pushed them off the roof of his storage unit. Sorry guys

Not enough votes yet for us to finish design & begin manufacturing.

    #82 3 years ago

TRON VE is coming. Not right away, but soon enough.

    Bank on it. Stern will.

    #83 3 years ago

I'd be in for a Tron VE, but only if they updated it to have the lighted ramps. I doubt Eli's kit will work on a VE, if you're even able to get the kit anymore. They updated IM a little bit when they did the VE, I hope they would do it for Tron too.

    #84 3 years ago
    Quoted from cleland:

I am super excited about even a small glimmer of a hope for a TRON VE!

    #85 3 years ago

I say Stern should put in lighted ramps, shaker motor, powder coated armor and sell it as a premium.

    #86 3 years ago

I'm holding out for the Spidey VE VE

I heard the VEVE has Electric Company art

I say Stern will put Powder coated armor and sell it like a premium.

    #91 3 years ago

I'm in on a Tron VE also but not if Stern screws it up like the latest Spiderman edition. Just my artistic opinion but, sheesh...

And I'd get Centerflank and Labnip into a bidding war to get my money. I love Pinsiders fighting over me.

    #92 3 years ago

How did 8 days go by and I missed the latest TRONVE thread???....been playing pinball too much.....Flank, put me down for 5, but only if I can prepay in full for a discount.....

We decided to have a no compete clause drafted and the street price is negligible.

Well I would say it. Great game but I don't need one.

Would be nice but not at premium prices. Stern ruined the VE hopes for me with SMVE, add some bling, lose some play characteristics, and increase the price. NOT!!!
