Just wanted to post a thank you to everyone on here, and other sites, who have shared their knowledge and information about this hobby.

I have absolutely zero technical / mechanical background so thinking of becoming a pin owner was daunting to me. I had never used a multimeter, never held a soldering iron, and to be perfectly honest have always been a little timid around electrical items - I was skittish to lift the playfield the first time even with the thing unplugged! But I knew, from reading, if I was going to own one of these I'd have to eventually man up and start digging in and learning. I had been having a little trouble with the roulette wheel on my newly purchased High Roller Casino . It seemed to work when it wants to, even some times after not touching the game for several days it will just start working on its own. As I was working with it under the playfield I noticed a couple of switches that were cracked. So I set up my Marco account, ordered some supplies, and started replacing the switches. Well in the course of doing those I managed to break a wire apparently....

I must admit being a little frustrated when 8 of my switches all of the sudden stopped working. But then I remembered reading somewhere - "Switch Matrix" - and I actually sort of knew what the problem was. So I re-read my manual, grabbed the meter, and started slowly working through looking for continuity until I found the problem. I took a deep breath, got out the soldering iron, repaired the connection, and what do you know - my first diagnostic / repair!!

Marco... Multimeter.... Switch matrix...??? I just got excited when my GF brought me home some magnetic screwdrivers and to see that there's a Harbor Freight opening 10 minutes from me... Who the heck am I becoming???

Anyway I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who have taken their time out to share so much information and knowledge. I still have a long way to go, and I know this is elementary to many of you, but it is a huge step for someone like me. It is refreshing knowing there's so many resources out there willing to help, and I'm looking forward to the day when I can help the next person that comes along. Until that time comes I feel much more confident in working with my own machine and am going to keep plugging away at that stupid roulette wheel. Haha!

Thanks to you all! Stay safe!

    Kevin D.
