Quoted from Taxman:

I think she means the half bag. In the US they call it "settling". It is supposed to mean they settled to the bottom. I think it just means we are so accustomed to getting ripped off we settle for whatever they give us.

Haha yeah, she was pretty bummed with the 1/4 full bag of potato chips. That is a fair bit of "settling".

Call the 800 number on the bag. Get free stuff. That's the American way.

11 hours.
Coach seats - $800 USD each return x 3
business class - $3000 USD each return x 3
Manly = spending all the difference on Modelos.

Figured with all your world travels
you be able to cash in some frequent flyer miles.
Furthermost trip i ever made was from LAX to Dubai direct
on my way to work in east africa a few years ago.

Good luck to all (@PAPA) and safe trip.
cheers tom

When you buy the bargain airfares, they are a bit stingy with the air miles. I have been able to get a few upgrades over the years which was nice...

Just heading off for some pinball at FlipperSpeill in Vegas.

Stopped off at McDs for a burger.

Can't complain at the value. Any size soda is $1. Here is the large which is almost ONE LITRE!! so I filled it with an NZ amount of soda.

Dude, it you just ate McD's don't stray too far from a bathroom. That ExLax will shoot through you like you have Teflon insides.

Think about it. 10 chicken nuggets for $1.50. For $5 you can get 30 chicken nuggets and change back. Sounds good when drunk but straight you know something is not right.

Edit: P.S. I don't travel anymore so I am having fun watching you. When you get East Coast see if your near CT on a Monday night for the Sanctum.

There's In-N-Out Burger's all around Las Vegas. If you've never had, you should try it. Won't be as cheap as the fallen arches. But tastes way better.

Good God! Why would you ever eat at McDonald's when In-N-Out is everywhere? Buy a few t-shirts at the corp office and marvel at how no matter where you go when you get back home, somebody will ask you if there is an In-N-Out nearby.

Well, the Corporate offices are in Baldwin Park, California so I don't think our New Zealand guests are heading over there. There is a Company Store at the location due West of the New York-New York casino & I-15 on Dean Martin Drive. The one with the casino-style sign. All of their swag is available there with the exception of maybe the Texas & Utah shirts. I was able to get some California shirts at the Las Vegas location. Photos of the Baldwin Park campus including a replica of "Location #1" along with one of their catering trucks plus a shot of my "decade-old, secondhand Audi" by the Las Vegas location I mentioned.IMAG4021_(resized).jpgIMAG4021_(resized).jpg

That's the one I ate at in Vegas! Got a shirt, too.

(The walk there from the strip was a little dicey, though. Some shady underpasses you have to walk through that don't look too inviting...)

#115 8 years ago

In and out is great. But McDs is next door to Flipperspiel and we were short on time.

To be honest I rarely eat fast food back home, maybe once or twice a month. My wife makes me lovely food so no need to go for second (or third!) best.

rd

#116 8 years ago

Flipperspiel is a cool setup. Maybe 100-120sqft with 20 pins and some vids.

All the games are nice but I personally find it a bit dark with the lights off. Obviously that's no issue for Danni cause she is currently leading the 37 player tournament after 4 rounds.

(The lights were on in these pics obviously ...)

Tony Roma's $8.99 prime rib for the win. At Fremont casino.

Too rare for me Dave. I always have to ask for well done in the US for it to come out right for me.A little bit of pink showing is how i like it.

Thanks for the thread.

#122 8 years ago

Well, in the end Danni had a bad game on an EM and missed the top 8 playoffs.

I won most of my EM games but on some of the modern games, honestly, I was having real trouble seeing the ball in the dark. Worst was F14 which is generally a go-to game for me. I had the locks lit on ball one, then ball 2 and 3 went screaming STDM without me even seeing them. Ahhhh shit happens.

On competition games. With little/no ball savers. Ramped up. Wide open lanes.

Tough.

Kiss T shirt and in and out burgers. Perfection!!!

How'd you guys do today? Nice Kiss shirt, you raised her well! My niece is 13 and wears Zeppelin, Floyd and AC/DC tees all the time.

Danni listens to rock music, she can't help it living in my house.

Pingolf was tough today, I had some real stinkers, ironically on games I generally play very well on. I think I only beat par on 3 of the 9 machines. Par was 45, I got 59. Danni got 54. More torture tomorrow.

Add a slice of pineapple to any hamburger on the planet and suddenly you're in tropical paradise.Advertising taught me that.

Looks like a Triple Cheese Burger to me. Don't see an egg? Bon Appetite.

#144 8 years ago

Coincidentally, The first Fatburger I ever ate at was the one in Sunset Station in Henderson, Nevada.

#145 8 years ago

Lol, just one patty for me, not three....no way!

Edit: Just like this one with an egg and cheese for me.

Single or Double with cheese, jalapeno, hard cooked egg, mayo, onion, green relish, some times Banana Peppers. Side of Chili and that's a Fat Burger meal. Including water, no pop.

Quoted from Shiny_balls:

Now that's a burger. A triple is probably a little too big for me to eat.

Looks a little like a standard kiwi/Aussie hamburger that you'd buy in a fish n chip shop... Albeit with only one meat patty.

Hamburger = buttered toasted bun, meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, sauce, mayo
Cheeseburger = add cheese
Eggburger = add egg
Hawaiian burger = add pineapple (if you add pineapple to ANYTHING it becomes Hawaiian)
Bacon burger = add bacon

When McDs came to NZ in 1976, kiwis would go buy a "hamburger" and say WTF! A bun and a tiny piece of meat? Where's the rest gone?

rd

#148 8 years ago

I have tried one at fish n chip shop in Australia years ago, it called "Hamburger with the lot"
It came with egg and British style bacon! smoked%20bacon_(resized).jpgsmoked%20bacon_(resized).jpg
