I like this revised style. Will this alternate style be available to others?

#12 7 years ago
Quoted from Skins:

I spoke to Jeff about it. For now, it's a one off. If there's demand (reception here has been luke warm so who knows); it's something he may consider.

5 positives.....that's pretty good ...where do I sign up?

Can't wait to see how it turns out, like Jeff said. Pinball Pimp stencils rule!

#28 7 years ago

Very nice Skins......I agree, the back bottom lip on these classic SS crumbles almost every time it's touched. My FG cab sheds wood.

#38 7 years ago
Quoted from Classic_Stern:

Use wood harder on the back of the board on the bottom of the cabinet. The particle board. That stuff is awesome and then it will never , ever split again if you move it around. Only 8 dollars a can and will do that entire area. Makes rotten particle board sand like hard plywood. Great stuff by Minwax. The stuff is amazing.

Talking about this?

Anxiously waiting for painting progress pics

#83 7 years ago

Dang it. Hope everything is working like gang busters with no issues so there are no more delays on this restore moving forward.

#86 7 years ago

Awesome sauce!

#95 7 years ago

Already looks fantastic. Thanks for continued progress pics.

#118 7 years ago
Quoted from MikeS:

Are you going to be selling the stencils for this on your site? I think they look fantastic!
I did a CPR playfield swap a few years back on my FG but haven't got around to restoring my cabinet yet. I'd prefer to do something like this vs. going with the original design.

I asked that a month ago when I first laid eyes on that beauty....fingers crossed. I'd be fine paying a little premium for it...so both Jeff and Skins could get paid a little extra for their efforts.

What a nice shine...going to be a show stopper. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the playfield

#158 7 years ago

This is going to be one mean looking FG....sure it will still play more mean than it even looks

#161 7 years ago
Quoted from dasvis:

I don't know... I think the factory chrome coin inset assembly would have looked better on the black door. IMHO

In general I would agree...think you may change your mind once you see the whole package together...with the black rails and legs.

#173 7 years ago
Quoted from Skins:

Based on pbr's chart I thought I ordered the correct one but the one I got has that raised rib on the outside angle. Not sure where to source them.

Pinball Life sells the same type of leg as well....says non-ribbed, but looks like one at the bend point as your picture shows.

Thank you for posting pictures of the playfield.....wiping the drool away now.

And tacked into place. Worked perfectly.

Continuing to amaze...looking forward to the next update, with pictures...of course

#228 7 years ago

Wow....even the hanging hooks are starting to get fancy

#241 7 years ago
Quoted from Skins:

Only partial success. Still no strobe even with a brand new repro flasher board.

Thats not always a bad thing. It can be blinding. But it does give me an excuse for low scores..."the strobe blinded me, so I missed where the ball was"

Holy dirty wiring harness Batman.

#260 7 years ago

I would agree that red titans with red posts will probably be overkill. I haven't see yellow bands on the game before...sounds interesting. I'd lean towards clear over white or black bands.

#264 7 years ago

I like the idea.

I do remember asking Marco at some point last year if they could produce the shorter (1") clear finned post (that is used under the plastics), but they said no at that time. It would also be an option....if you were willing to sand them down.

Below is the taller 1 1/8"

Quoted from mof:

Hold up...
I'd consider yellow or possibly lime green rubbers.

-mof

Dang mof, I think you may be on to something. I may consider lime green around the swamp, spinners, and top drop targets. Swamp at the least....A nice color contrast that matches the playfield art.

Looks pretty damn nice to me. I bet Captive_Ball will be happy to trade you his apron so you can try again to make it to your liking. haha

Your right...I would shipped mine right over!

#317 7 years ago

Very nice work on those sockets.....wait a second....only one of the two brackets connecting the upper and lower playfields is powder coated black.

Wow...those inlane guides look sharp! Did you have to screw them in with care....since the screws have also been done?

Quoted from Skins:

So far I'm loving the blacked out look.

#407 6 years ago

Awesome...another vote for black acorn nuts

Quoted from dothedoo:

Backup set could be red.

To each his own....In looking at the one previously done in red...I have my doubts
