I'm in the process of getting my Funhouse playfield swapped out with a Mirco. I've spent a great deal of time reading several "do I mylar" threads and I'm really on the fence about a couple of additional areas never. First of all, general consensuses is pop bumper and ball drops. What I haven't found specifically for this game is:
1.) Adding mylar to high traffic areas that cannot be cleaned unless you remove ramps. Not all of us enjoy tearing a game down lol.
2.) Adding mylar under the ramp flaps as they do vibrate and wear on said space.
3.) Adding mylar to kickouts - really just asking for more opinions on this due to opinion stated below

I've already purchased this kit - was surprised to see shooter lane mylar. /shrug
    ebay.com link: itm

Lastly, many people have stated to it waxed, new balls and for HUO use there's no point of Mylar. I see the logic there, and I'd honestly not use any mylar else where but considering we go to great lengths to not only bring a machine back to life, should we also not ensure to protect it so in 30 more years it's almost in as glorious shape it is today?

Anyway - this site is outstanding. Thanks for any ideas/comments (rude or otherwise)

What about a Play Field Protector? If you were here in Denver, I would have you come over and take a look at my games with PF protectors on. That would solve all of those concerns. The protector makes the PF look like it was clear coated. (I have one game with a clear coated play field) Does the game play different with a protector? In all honesty yes it does. It plays a bit faster and quieter. You will not have to worry about: chipping, dimpling, scratching, of the new pf. I have one game that the PF is completely cover with Mylar. It also looks very nice like the PF is under water. The only problem with that one is, if you want the Mylar off, you have to freeze it off and then clean all the glue from the PF surface. Lots of work!

I would not no. I would add a bit of mylar to the shooter lane for the simple reason is when you end up selling it there's a good chance you'll be selling it to a total idiot whom thinks it's important. I hated to cave but it just makes it easier

In home use there is really no need to add mylar to a clearcoated playfield. Just play the game and enjoy it.

I put in a new pf in my FH. I only used mylar at ramp ends where the ball drops on the pf. Also used at the drain hole.

I just got a Sys11 Bally Game Show all ready to go and today I tossed a Playfield Protector on it, it needed the protection badly as the Sys11 PF's will flake away of not taken care of. This will have it last for ages now with minimal work. And it looks great, i'm pleased. Its the first one I have put in.
