Quoted from SkyKing2301:I've been looking for something nice to run my coworkers/friends tournaments, and I believe iScored will do the trick for me. My tournaments are simple format -- everyone plays each game twice, and the top 2 on each game have a one-game final, then all the winners go on to a 1 to 3 game (depending how late it is) finals round on game(s) drawn at random. Traditionally, I've tracked scores on paper charts on a two large whiteboards, but with 8 games it was getting challenging to track them all since I have to stand over by the scoreboards.
Your software will definitely do the trick -- since I can float around with tablet in hand, and it'll easily show me the top two (instead of having to look through all my chicken scratch). I'll set up a monitor nearby for players to keep an eye on the scores too.
Really the only part I've yet to figure out is the game tracking -- typically players get two plays per game. I might have to do a 'punch card' or something similar, checking off / punching out the games as I collect their score. At past tournaments, people have had difficulty keeping track of what they'd played and/or how many times.
I had fun setting it up and building images/backgrounds for my games, which I've shared. Thanks for the great software, I look forward to the upcoming tournament to see how well it goes!
You could always enter their name as "Joe Blow 1" and "Joe Blow 2" for each score. The software won't take special characters, but it will take spaces and numbers. The ability to track multiple scores per person is a feature that is already on my to-do list, but it's not on the immediate horizon.
Adding some kind of basic tournament support is my #1 desired feature right now, but I'm still working on how to best implement it without interfering with the app's overall simplicity and usability. I have not forgotten about it, though!
By the way, there was a bug introduced recently that would have caused the on-screen keyboards to stop working for some people -- I just want to let you all know that's been fixed. (as well as another bug that could very rarely cause the whole game room to stop working -- also fixed)
