Gottlieb System 3 doesn't need it.... It uses a lithium coin cell that is very rarely a problem. If the onboard cell dies, you put a holder in and pop a new coin cell in. Good for many years.

There are no caustic gases vented from a Li-MnO2 cell (just CO2, hydrogen, and maybe some methane).
