Just a heads up that our Bally HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS Playfield Run launched this past weekend.

The Preorder Group is getting emailed first, across 3-4 weeks of email mailouts, in waves. Then onto the Standby List group, if any are left over.

Then if any left over after that, they will go up for General Public Sales on our web site Store.

We have a temporary shop closure from roughly tomorrow until April 2nd, for (a few of us, including me) to take our spring break trips away from the Canadian winter. Preorder buying instructions emails will resume upon our return.

At the very least, for Pinside purposes, everybody always like to see pictures. So I'll attach some below.

Not yet. But still hunting.

Still seeking an NOS or near-perfect original backglass loaner/donor candidate. With reward.

It's been years. Been crickets.

#6 7 months ago

There’s a great condition one at the Asheville Pinball Museum - maybe reach out to them?

Stu is the person you have to work with on all artwork projects. He is the Art Director at CPR ( and a CPR Partner ) and makes the decisions on which artwork projects get made. He left pinside like 5 years ago do to the toxic nature of the people here and all the negativity towards CPR. You can find him on Facebook, or try contacting him through the CPR Facebook page.

CPR has also posted on Facebook that they are currently looking for an NOS/Near Perfect CENTAUR II Backglass to work from as well....

Man, I'm going to buy a PF and then wait for a blown-out example to pop up....heck yes! Thank you, CPR!

Anxiously awaiting the email for purchase!

Mine has just a small flake on the bottom. You guys scan them? I know a place here with a scanner large enough.

I signed up for one of these CPR playfields years ago. I still haven't heard anything. Has anyone else been notified yet?

In addition to having a mint NOS Harlem Globetrotters backglass, I also have an NOS playfield plastics set.

To top it off, I also have what has to be one of the finest examples of an unmolested HUO machine in existence. I purchased it from the original owner about 10 years ago. He bought it for his kids brand-new but they didn't play it much. It sat underneath a tarp in his basement for 30 years until he sold it to me. It still had the peel-off protective plastic film on the side rails and coin door. It's a keeper. About the only way you'd find one nicer would be to find one still sealed in the original factory box.

Nice pickup gatecrasher. I haven't been notified either, I'm just worried that when they went to the newer website my request didn't carry over and somehow got missed. They have limited staff till the first of April for vacations.

I pretty-sure I was one of the 1st to sign up a few years ago for one of these playfields. I had an NOS playfield that I sold to another Pinside member a couple years ago because I thought I'd be getting one of these CPR playfields plus the one in my machine is virtually mint too. Kevin then told me that the Harlem Globetrotters was on hold due to legal issues with the copyrights and he didn't know if or when they would ever be made. About that time I was regretting selling my NOS playfield.

I'm glad that CPR was finally able to manufacture these.

I signed up a year ago when they reopened collecting preorders and I haven’t heard anything either.

You will never get a notification from these guys! You have been warned!

Why they have a preorder system and don't use it, is just plain stupid.

I agreed yet people keep signing up

CPR staff is on vacation till the end of this weekend, so I'd expect you'll be getting emails next week and so on depending on your date of commitment.

Just got my purchase notification yesterday. I joined the list August 2018.

When would they typically / potentially have “bronze” editions available?

#25 6 months ago

I can't wait to get mine! My Harlem Globetrotters has been sitting in hiatus since I bought it 3 years ago.

Ksarcade.net has an NOS.....

I have had a couple people reach out to me for playfield rails for Harlem. I currently do not have a set to use as a template. If anyone has a set to send in I will bump you to the top of my queue.

Thanks

I was on the preorder list. I confirmed this with CPR. I just got an email stating the preorder list has been completed and now standbys are being offered. No golds in stock and there isnt a preorder discount, what gives?

#29 5 months ago

Sorry you didn't get one, this isn't the first time this has happened lately. Seems CPR thinks it's too much trouble to send out an email to the people on their preorder list to see who still wants a playfield, instead they just guess. I would think this would be a better approach than just trying to estimate how many they might sell and getting it wrong then end up with mad customers that were on the list and don't get one. I'm on the list for Meteor and I'm concerned the same thing could happen there.

Is it really that hard to confirm the preorder list when you get ready for the playfield to go into production????

So I have one and have a problem and was wondering if anyone else has the same issue with their PF.

Near the right upper saucer (Free Throw Saucer) one the original playfield there is what I will call a nail - the CPR playfield has this hole drilled as well - BUT - they drilled the hole TOO FLIPPING BIG and the "nail" will just fall through.

From pictures I have seen from searching, seems they all have a "nail" here vs. some sort of post.

What the hell...

Trying to decide what options I have now - is putting a post here going to be too big - OR - do I fill the hole and insert the nail back? Right now I have most of the playfield assembled and still have some work to do before I can play test - maybe I can leave nothing there?

Note the pictures they posted above clearly shows this hole and it looks smaller.

edit: after thinking about it, I wonder if the nail was put there to provide support for the gate when closed if the ball hits it from the opposite side (so it does not force the gate back towards the saucer)?

Pictures of the OEM playfield with the "nail" still installed and the CPR one (grrr)

Put some wood glue on a toothpick insert into the hole and cut the toothpick so it’s flush, or little less, to the playfield then tap the nail in. You cold also go to hardware store and buy a bigger nail that will fit in the hole. All it is, is a finishing nail.

Thanks - my problem with filling the hole with wood is now you have this bare wood spot. I know first world problems, but maybe I will try finding a larger nail, I should have something in my bins (hate to have to buy a whole box for just one). lol

Still irks me...
