Is there a limit to the number of MM's that can be built? If I'm not mistaken the run was set at 1000? Now that production isn't a problem can another run be scheduled if there is enough demand?

Quoted from RobT:Quoted for too much truth.
Truthiness, as Colbert said. I was at Betson open house a little while back and a manager was venting to me about all the operator complaints he had listened to about WOZ. His opinion was WOZ is a commercial failure. There have just been too many problems for ops to deal with. Not many ops are pin enthusiasts and they aren't willing to put in the time that collectors are.
Quoted from rommy:So my issue becomes $8k for a Stern Pro. We all know what the value will do in a year and on down the road. It is a Stern Pro. $5k would seem reasonable say in 2016. Which is fine, just not really collectible .
I wouldn't worry too much about a new MM loosing value. How many original MM's are there? About 4000? How many original Addams Familys are there? About 20,000? Addams Family values have held up just fine. Even with that many made you don't see a lot of Addams Familys for sale now. Granted an MM remake may not have much appreciation potential but it will certainly be a safe place to park your money. I think this situation is a win/win for everyone. Collectors get a reasonably priced classic and Stern stays healthy by staying busy and avoids any development costs for a change.
Quoted from Concretehardt:In most cases the clone/repo of the original ends up being worth less, this is true with most items Cars, Guns, ect
Will it hold true for pinball?? time will tell...
PS.Talking apples to apples here... not comparing a clapped out routed MM to a new MMr...
Comparing a nice example of a Williams MM vs PPS MMr
It will be fun to see what happens. Clone cars get driven and enjoyed, rare originals sit in museums or collections and don't get used. I'll go with the repro and enjoy the crap out of it.
Quoted from smokedog:Compete with Stern at Pro pricing, and my location(s) would swell with B/W classics along side new Sterns.
Ditto that. Over $5K for a location machine doesn't make sense. That doesn't mean I won't do it, but at pro pricing it is safe for an op to be all in.
