Quoted from blownfuse:

Hm, I didn't see anything saying that PPS got the Capcom rights too. I thought Gene kept that separate from Illinois Pinball, which would mean that Capcom will remain with Gene.

This isn't an IPB bankruptcy. "Planetary Pinball Supply (PPS) today acquired the majority of the assets from the bankruptcy estate of Gene Cunningham." This is more like an "everything but the dentures" personal bankruptcy. I'm not sure exactly what Gene owned with regard to Capcom, but it all belongs to PPS now.

Quoted from beachybrid:

I agree, BBB artwork would be hard to beat, but having an additional ramp tie in there somewhere would be a game changer for me- I would sign up for that. the ball has so many routes to go into, an extra ramp wont hurt anyone.

It's impossible to just drop an extra ramp into a completed game. Zero chance that ever happens.

Quoted from Skypilot:

Just curious to all of you that are excited about BBB. Have you ever played it?

Agreed, BBB just isn't that fun. Kingpin is much better game, but even it's probably not worth repro NIB money to me. Maybe if it had awesome art to match the gameplay.

Quoted from BobC:

Post say majority, not all of IPB assests

Actually it doesn't say that. It says "the majority of the assets from the bankruptcy estate of Gene Cunningham. Matt Christiano, PPS chairman, also acquired Illinois Pinball, Inc." If something was IPB property, PPS owns it. They just didn't get everything Gene (the individual) owns.

Quoted from rommy:

I already have a BBB and it's pretty but not that fun once the new wears off. [...] The new Sterns are so much better.

Agreed. There are at least a dozen Sterns that I find twice as fun as BBB, for less than half the going rate. BBB isn't expensive because it's great, it's expensive because it's rare. Once anyone can have a BBB for $8k, trophy collectors will no longer want one.

Quoted from teekee:

Let me repeat... zero chance for a BBB remake.

If the chance is zero, you could lay me a million to one odds and never lose. Let's bet a dollar. If you win, you get a dollar. If I win, I get a million. Free dollar, right? Put your money where your mouth is.

#266 9 years ago
Quoted from teekee:

So that shows how confident you are... Lol, send me my dollar now.

I'm not that confident, but I only have to be right one in a million times for this to be a good bet. Call me crazy, I'll risk it.

Do we have a bet? Say the word, and I'll send my dollar now. If PPS ever makes BBB, you ship the million.

If we don't have a bet, I guess it's better than zero chance after all.

#277 9 years ago
Quoted from teekee:

Let's each put a million down on the bet.

That's not how odds work. If we each put up the same amount, that's 1-to-1, or a 50% chance. You said zero chance. A million to one is .0001%. I'm giving you better than zero!

Quoted from teekee:

I'm not going to do something like this for a buck. Or we can do a thousand... PM if you're game for a REAL bet.

Let's bet in the open so there's a record and everyone can hold us to it.

Birrieria Zaragoza near Midway airport in Chicago serves the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. Ancho mole marinated, slow-roasted goat in tomato consommé, with fresh handmade corn tortillas and fire-roasted salsa de molcajete. Make your own tacos. The salsa de molcajete is good enough to eat with a spoon.

Screw it, let's all skip work this afternoon. I'll meet you there.
