As I said, I'm all for them making it and good luck. You come here with an OBVIOUS hot button topic that everyone knows is going to stir up some shit. I half assume CPR did this to drum up a bit of press, if not, I don't see how you wouldn't see it coming.

Man, sometimes we all have to step back and judge or own negativity from afar. I thought it was blasphemous that someone would like (angrily like might I add) the color this much but hey, I can admit when I'm wrong. I showed the boys this thread and they actually liked it a lot.
So long story long, we're doing the conversions ourself, and the Centaurs are lined up for this one kids!

Edit: before people coming down on my skillz , this is just the base coat....the clear will flatten it well.

honestly, that would be something I would buy and do a swap with.
If Paul was the one that colorized this, then it would be pretty awesome!
Would be great to have the full package (pf, backglass, and plastics) all done as a cohesive set also.
As it sits, this is a cool wall hanger but not something I see being for actual pf use.

I am actually blown away at how awesome it looks in color. I think the green looks great too. Its weird because I love the green on the playfield but not so much on the backglass. If I was restoring a centaur though, I just don't know what way I'd go. I think I'm still leaning toward the black and white original, but I still think the color looks great.

It does not. My perspective is perfectly valid regardless of who colorized it. I don't need to justify it to you or anyone. I only mentioned that I didn't know who it was because Aurich made it sound like I was going after Kevin in particular.
I showed this to my brother and his immediate reaction was, “You would think that that’s the way the Centaur II would have been made. So after further conversation we’re thinking Centaur in black & white and Centaur II in color - side by side. Boom, perfect solution.
like the bw playfields on munsters premium that were so dull and sales flat that they went back to color.
theres an ass for every seat. i like that its different. good job.
btw bare playfields never look good imho. would love to see it loaded and in a game.

Without disclosing my initial opinions on Centaur-C, I will say I think seeing one, populated and installed in a cab, original or II, would really "Gottlieb Type C Switch"* the case.

I’m doing a centaur in colour have the pf and glass coming also using mirror paint on the cabinet I’ll post pics in the spring will be 100% new. I did this to fathom nobody complained yet

Well, for one thing...to the best of my knowledge, they only made like TEN colorized playfields. I almost bought one. Almost....but then I realized I haven't seen a Centaur for sale in DFW *ever* in 10 years. That was an easy decision.
I have this machine for sale for anyone who wants to see the playfield and back glass together. I think it looks very nice.
