There are still tickets available for Friday and Sunday. Sunday is starting to pick up, i could see that selling out too. So if you want to come to the event, please get your ticket ahead.

The Ann Arbor Pinball Show is coming May 16-18.
Remember this is a limited ticket event. This keeps game-to-people ratio very nice without over crowding.

    http://www.vfwpinball.com
two hundred machines on free place. Show is friday, saturday, sunday, May 16-18.
    thanks!

    #2 9 years ago

Sunday looks like a great day to go to the show !

    #3 9 years ago

Can we bring a pin to sell if we set it up on free play?

    #4 9 years ago

I think they will have a flea market out side by the garage area, ( for free, no charge).

    #5 9 years ago

Yes can bring a game to sell, that's no problem.

    #6 9 years ago

Not to sound too dooms day and all, but sunday is pushing towards a sell out too.

    #7 9 years ago

That is exactly why I bought my tickets early ! I would have been seriously bummed out had I missed this show.
Already counting the days. 4 days : )

Just bought my ticket for Sunday.

    #9 9 years ago

I procrastinated as much as possible and bought my Saturday ticket right before Clay said it was about to fill up. I just bought my Sunday ticket this morning.

Clay, thanks for giving everyone lots of notice as the tickets have been selling. If you can keep the procrastinators happy, you must be doing alright!

    #10 9 years ago

Based on your warning I just bought a ticket for Sunday. Looking forward to it

    #11 9 years ago

Assuming you have another show open to the general public
(with limited amount of tickets pre-sold for each day),
Might you change the allotment of tickets, after you see what the pin traffic flow is like,
when the VFW hall has been tested to its supposed full capacity.
Do you think you got the number limit about right?
    or after this weekend ( and number crunching AND reflection and feedback from the crowd);
do you think you might be able to add 10-20% more people per day to the next show,
or maybe even have to reduce your capacity limit, should there be overcrowding.
What is your current crowd limit per day?
    100?? 200?? 400??
    just asking.
cheers and good luck and have a super fun and safe show
wish i could be there, maybe next time, if there is a next time.

Only one way to find out!

What are you planning to bring? I see you've got a White Water in the queue. Is it ready?

    Quoted from mot:

Actually that limit might be set by the fire marshall for the size building, and number of exit doors, etc.
But would hope Clay was able to get at least 200 pinheads per day
to move comfortably around the hall without over heating.

White Water is up and running in the Williams/Bally WPC row.

Clay just added a Jungle Lord last night to complete the WMS system 3-7 multi level collection.

Also just arrived is a WMS system 3 Flash (not part of the Museum collection) that will be for sale.

    #16 9 years ago

There will be a bunch of other games for sale too from plug-and-play units to projects in the garage/flee market area.

We met with the Fire Marshal a few months ago and went through the whole building and calculated free square footage and exit doors. Based on that he gave us occupancy numbers. This was instrumental in determining how many tickets would be available for any of the days. Because I've been to some shows where if there was a fire, chaos would ensue... you just couldn't get people out fast enough. I informed him that all Williams sys3-11 games (pre sys11b) have been modified with added fuses to the bridge rectifiers, so the chance of fire is non-existant! (Williams, gotta love them.)

    #18 9 years ago

Ticket sales for sunday are moving well. It would really suck if someone drove to the show without a ticket, and was turned away at the door. For this reason if you are coming it's really advisable that you get a ticket ahead at the web site. http://www.vfwpinball.com

On a side note the outside flee market and food pavilion do not require a wristband. But you can't get inside the building where the 200+ games resides without a wristband.

    #19 9 years ago

Do you have any vendor space available?

    #20 9 years ago
    Quoted from nsduprr:

White Water is up and running in the Williams/Bally WPC row.

I sure hope there's a White Water there to play! I was asking Weir what he's bringing because I've bought a game from him in the past (Fireball) and would love to buy another game!

    #21 9 years ago
    Quoted from shakenbake:

Do you have any vendor space available?

Outside vendor space is practically unlimited. Bring your own tables and pop up tents. Trailers are welcome. There is some exterior power but it is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Inside space for games sales is still available. Inside space for vendor tables may be limited at this time. Contact Clay directly via the web site.

    #22 9 years ago
    Quoted from shakenbake:

Do you have any vendor space available?

We've got over 10 acres of property, so as long as you have a folding table, we've got vendor space!

(Heck, you could even use the hood/trunk of your car if you wanted to....)

    Thanks,
    Eric

    No worries, there is.

All I want to know is when is the next show ?

    #25 9 years ago
    Quoted from mot:

What are you planning to bring? I see you've got a White Water in the queue. Is it ready?

I was going to bring the Diner, but already lined up a buyer. WH20 has a long list of potential buyers already

    #26 9 years ago

For people that bought tickets friday night, they will get a free pinball poster upon entry. Saturday attendees can enter into the raffle for the plug and play EM pinball we're giving away (Bally Odds and Evens.)

For those of you who are not familiar with the area around the VFW and are wondering about food, we will be having hot dogs, sausages, drinks and assorted snacks for sale in the outside pavilion.

For those looking for more refined dining experience there are a number of local “watering holes” and “feed lots” a short drive away.

If your into high end deli sandwiches Zingerman’s Delicatessen in Ann Arbor is a must to place to go eat. It’s arguably the best damn delicatessen this side of New York City.

We will have directions posted to all these places at the door.

Also keep in mind that tailgating is a very viable option too.

I seriously considered the 12 hour drive for this because it sounds like a fantastic event and the crowd control is a really cool approach.

Curious though, how long after something sells out do scalpers start trying to get into the game? Hope that doesn't happen...

    WMS: Wires May Sizzle.

This came from one of their slot machine service district managers.

Seeing the scalpers who work the UM football games wandering around the parking lot yelling out "I need tickets!" would be sweet.

I'm heading there today and tomorrow. I'll have the hugging booth set up in the far back. $10 for a 30 second hug of your life. Don't miss out!

    #41 9 years ago

I was hesitant to post this but what the hell…

We have had rain of biblical proportions the last few days. Our parking situation was not a problem a week ago with our large field. Well, with the crap load of rain, the field is somewhat soggy and some parts are unusable

This will not affect show in anyway except that we ask that attendees be considerate in not “wasting” parking space. We will have people to direct parking so please be considerate when they direct you to a spot.

If you have the opportunity to car pool, please considerate as it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Doug D.

Does that mean there's nowhere good to set up a tent and camp?

I think there's still plenty of space for that...it's just trickier to get the full use of the parking lots.

Anyone have an eightball deluxe that you could bring to sell? Please pm me

If you look really close, Terry from Pinball Life has set up shop on the repair shop counter. Pin Restore is set up along the bar, Jon Dayhuff Enterprises is set up in the annex along with other vendors. BGResto has some great deals available too. Hope everyone can make it. Excellent light food, snacks and gourmet coffee is available.

Amazing show. Amazing venue. Amazing staff. What a blast! Thanks to everyone who helped make this all possible. We are all extremely grateful for such a rare opportunity. I felt like a kid again while I was there. I haven't had that feeling in ages and I miss it. Almost wanted to shed a tear or two from having such a good time.

While I'm here, if anyone is heading there tomorrow that might be selling a Fish Tales, please contact me. Thanks!
