Heading up in 5 hours or so! Will there be dollys up there I can use? I rather not bring mine if I don’t have to.

    Can’t wait!

    #402 4 years ago

    Pin dollies a-plenty......

Is this not a family friendly event?

    #404 4 years ago
    Quoted from polyacanthus:

Is this not a family friendly event?

I'd say it is... I've always seen a smattering of kids walking around. I actually played some Star Wars with a little guy last year, he was working his way through a couple of the star wars machines with his dad watching over him. Good kid

    #405 4 years ago
    Quoted from polyacanthus:

Is this not a family friendly event?

There are folks who have a few drinks in the parking area, and some who smoke on the trails.
They are pretty well behaved. Everyone is very friendly.
I would say no problem for kids.

    Quoted from polyacanthus:

Is this not a family friendly event?

Absolutely family friendly. The recent posts might have devolved a little too far into a smoking and drinking discussion, but the VFW event is focused sharply on pure, family-friendly pinball.

I didnt attend last year, but two years ago on sunday there were some project games for sale in a box truck,, is that happening again? Just wondered, if so Id bring my SUV instead of car just in case. I'll be bringing my 7 year old for his first time, hes super excited as Ive let him know it will be the biggest and best quality collection he has ever seen.. hes been playing his entire life. Hes out for some revenge as one person beat his grand champ score on GOTG at Pinball at the zoo this past weekend,, hes already retaken his Guns N Roses grand champ back at a 1.4 Billion -

the M-43 strawberry just came out as well. it may be hard to find though since many of their releases are limited and usually sell out in the first couple of days

I will bring one and gift it to the first person to find me on friday after 5pm. it will be nice and icy cold

    #413 4 years ago

Argh! I won't be there 'til Saturday. If you bring me a four-pack of strawberry M-43, I'll pay you back AND let you beat me in a bunch of dollar games.

    #414 4 years ago

and of course none of those ladies will be in attendance.

    #415 4 years ago

On family friendly... we don't cater to kids specifically. but there is nothing really not kid friendly. a few games have bare titties. and we show rock mtv videos at the bar (and a few are a bit edgy.) that's the worst i can say in that regard. But keep in mind there is no discount ticket for kids. also ALL kids need a ticket. I don't care if they are 1 year old or 12 years old, they need a ticket. (and we are sold out.)

and unfortunately matt is correct.... none of those above ladies will be present.
best we have is Puffdaddy in a mini skirt...

    #416 4 years ago

    TIMES.

9am is the tournament start on friday! i know that's earlier than prior years. but it's been sneaking into show time, so we thought we would do it that way. Also no 'rounds' per say. when you finish you're head-to-head tourney game, you go see JM and Andy and get another game/partner assignment. These two things should make the three-strikes tourney move a bit faster with less wait time.

You never know. I was told that "Unique Clothing Home" may be hot.

    #418 4 years ago

    #419 4 years ago

I wont be able to make it on Sunday due to family obligations. I have a spare reservation for sundays show. PM me.

    #424 4 years ago

For anyone staying at the holiday inn express in Brighton, it’s a Wyndham now. Reservation was still good. Haha. Just FYI.

    #425 4 years ago
    Quoted from yancy:

Beer dudes, track down some Old Nation M-43 New England style IPA while you’re in Michigan this weekend. Comes in a four-pack of pint cans with plain black & white labels. Not cheap, but worth it.

and if you can find the unicorn, they just released tart strawberry m-43. I will have a couple of those with me.

    #426 4 years ago

I've made arrangements with a unicorn wrangler.

    #427 4 years ago

are you sure? he gave me a 4 pack Tuesday.

    #428 4 years ago

said unicorn wrangler still has some left for my good friend, chicago mob boss yancy

    Cash only at the door?

    Yes.

    #435 4 years ago

So, if we pre-registered weeks ago, we don’t need to bring anything to prove that, our names are on a list? We just need the rest of the entry fee?

    #436 4 years ago
    Quoted from Pinkitten:

it makes it easier if you have the email from your paypal transaction. we've found in the past that many people have paypal accounts set up under either a spouse's name or something that they don't remember (eg. something other than their primary email account

if you have printout (or email) of the transaction, we can usually cross reference it quickly and easily (making it that much quicker to get you your wristbands and move onto the next person)

    Quoted from Atrain:

Yes, Family friendly event. get the kids together for a picture taking session with Clay. He will sign autographs!

    #444 4 years ago

    Is it 4 o'clock yet?

    #445 4 years ago
    Quoted from rubble300:

There really needs to be a cardboard cutout of Clay to take pictures with.

Also, why isn’t there a “Men of VFW” calendar every year.
I’d buy that for a dollar.

    #446 4 years ago
    Quoted from TwoHeartedMale:

    It is somewhere.....

Maybe we can get Tim Arnold to attend the next May show so both of the "Happiest guys on earth" can double up on the friendliness.
To be fair, Tim has been to the VFW, Tilt Town and Flipper City in the past.

    #448 4 years ago

Abra is spoken for. Still have a bit of room left i can fit aquarius if anyone wants it
