    Quoted from Meegis:

Anyone know why 696 is closed? Is it temporary or will it still be shut down in a few hours?

total shut down , redoing west bound side, closed from 94 to 75.

It is a long-term closure for major construction.

If you are crossing over at Sarnia just take I-69 West to u.s. 23 South to get to the VFW. It is not worth fighting the Detroit area traffic especially a few hours from now.

    #806 1 year ago

I'm crossing Sarnia, but hitting Farmington hills first

This is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever seen. Bumper to bumper traffic and a wide open left line you are not allowed to drive in. Pure Michigan stupidity.

    Quoted from frobozz:

Firefly is done(ish) and will be heading to the show tomorrow.
Everything works EXCEPT for anything related to the on-playfield bonus accumulating/scoring. That was just a bridge too far in the time I had. I'll get the game back sometime after the show and finish that up so it should be all good by Expo. The game is actually pretty fun! My son (who has been playing pins since before he could see over the lockdown bar) was flipping it a bit the other night and I had to pry him off of it and send him home so I could get back to work on it. In addition to the magnets, Harry put together a wickedly frenetic set of bumpers and slings up top. The Ball Is Wild.

Great fun playing Firefly! The magnets are just strong enough to 'hold' the ball against the center rollover...you can nudge it loose but I was not feeling good about doing that. The post under the bottom magnet did not help, ended up pulling the glass to free it up. Maybe setting the game at a steeper angle will allow gravity to limit this and lend a hand for a gentler nudge to free it. Great job on this game and thanks all for getting it here!

    Quoted from swillie:

Someone post some gameplay video on youtube pretty please

    #820 1 year ago

It actually needs to be shallower (4-5 degrees) then the magnet can better grab the ball up off the post. I texted Clay this while ago. Long term I think the post needs to be moved closer up, but it can't be moved much because then it will be drilling down into the magnet!

The joys of bringing up the first whitewood, even from a legendary designer...

ETA: or maybe SMALLER post (a true KirkPost) would keep it from sitting right in the balance spot between magnet and gravity.

    Quoted from pinwiztom:

Yes please! My coworkers were asking if I had made some gameplay video before I sent that game off. Oops, was too busy getting it ready...

    Sick tshirt.

Speaking of I like how you use a hangar for a normal tshirt. Nice.

    #823 1 year ago
    Quoted from frobozz:

maybe SMALLER post (a true KirkPost)

Or maybe try a Siamese facetted post (mounted vertically with single screw in the rear hole)
to allow it to be fastened to the PF without interference with the magnet plate.
    Allows more placement adjustability.

That might work. The ball still needs to fit around it to get past the flippers, and into the drain, but that might be a fix. I still think a mini-post is what I'd try next. More in keeping with what Harry was going for, but might fix the dead zone.

    Leaving soon.
Still don't know if I will go via Detroit or Sarnia...
    Wearing my 2016 showcase t-shirt.
And bringing my wife (more ladies every year).

Look for me milling about/playing by Alien Poker. If it's in last years spot that will be down from Alien.

No worries, his pin technicians also perform small engine repairs on crushed fans & recoil starters.........

Mini bike rides on. Marvins is a must visit while in the area. Food and games are top notch again this year. Be sure to thank the concession staff and everyone in a red or orange staff shirt.

    The show must go on.

So which ss or newer machines are the tanks that just don't seem to break down?
Now that's what I want to know when shopping for a future title.

I can assure you it was not the Dr. Dude, Demo Man, Volcano or Predator. So far.....

I see a lot of nice machines but no humans?

More tailgating than the last 3 years and more than any other pinball show we've been to. That's a good thing in my opinion.
