We're a little light on game issues for this week's clinic. If you'd like some live help troubleshooting your EM game please sign up.

    #103 3 years ago

Would you ever consider doing one of these for an EM shuffle bowler? So many switches! So many potential problems

    #104 3 years ago

I'd consider it. The help might be limited by the availability of the schematics and our coaches' experience but there are lots of things in common with pinball that we should be able to help with.

    #105 3 years ago
    Quoted from Boslaw:

Oooooo yeeaaahhhhh. I have a '62 United Astro and the whole backbox is like a closet full of switches, etc.

    #106 3 years ago

If I could free up enough time to participate again, I would be happy to help diagnose a bowler problem (shuffle or ball) if the others were ok with it. Bingos too, if you'd like more switches than a bowler...

I'm working on the launch of a project this weekend, so unfortunately cannot participate (again).

    #107 3 years ago

I have a shuffle bowler with schematics that I don't know how to read properly It's got a number of issues that I've been wracking my brain to figure out for over a year.

    #108 3 years ago

To Mark and the other coaches – sorry I was late to the party – arrived at 4P Mountain/Arizona, but was an hour late....

It was definitely interesting listening to the diagnoses of the Grand Prix, Prospector, and the baseball game. Hopefully I can make the next one on time!

    #109 3 years ago

Agreed, I enjoyed seeing the baseball getting back on track. I dont think I've ever seen one here in the UK, so it was good to see one for real.

Pass it on to someone you think might be interested.

    #111 3 years ago

Oh, cool. I have a couple seemingly simple issues (chattering flipper and non-scoring slingshot on Mayfair, "3" rollover and dial switch not registering on Sky-Line), but I haven't gotten around to really diving in on these yet, so it would be fun to do this live. Don't really know how to use the webcam on my laptop, but maybe my wife will be the "camera crew" with her Macbook, she knows that stuff.

    #112 3 years ago

While a camera (web cam, phone, whatever) can be helpful it's not really required to troubleshoot. We do it here all the time.
A microphone however would be required if you'd like to do more than listen in.

Amazing that you're up to #13.

I may send in a request by Tuesday. I just have to confirm my schedule.

    Hi Mark,

I'll probably pass on this one, as my basement flooded about two weeks ago, and I'm still cleaning it up. As a result my Dipsy Doodle is in the garage, there probably won't be enough light and it will be pretty cold to boot. Have a great session.

You can always post here in the EM forum.

    #117 3 years ago

I may. I got a bit of education reading schematics from HowardR (he was very helpful) and I’ve previously posted about this shuffle bowler and gotten assistance from @Mopar. I may go back now that I know a bit about schematics and see if I can figure some things out, although a walk through of an issue or two on one of MarkG’s repair clinics would probably be hugely helpful.

Thanks Mark for the clinic today. You guys are great. You resolved my issue. Extremely helpful and insightful.

    #121 3 years ago

Fantastic clinic today, looking forward to the next one

    #122 3 years ago

These clinics are always enjoyable, feel like I learn new stuff each time, Mark and the other coaches are great

    #123 3 years ago

Add my thanks to Mark and all for making these happen . Greatly appreciate the incredible amount of time everyone gives. With the help of the group brain, my Space Mission is now at 100% . To avoid additional cringe and gasping I will not reveal the common-but-not-proper 'temporary' solution for the weak spring on the mini-stepper as I find it unavailable so far -- thus off to the 'parts needed' thread for a 10-324-1.

Hope to be a part of the next one. Interactive EM sessions -- such a blast!

    Cheers

    Tom

The next EM Pinball Online Repair Clinic will be on Friday Nov. 12. Last month we helped with Fiesta, Hootenanny, Central Park and Fire Queen. At one point we had coaches in the US and Australia troubleshooting a game in Switzerland.

The clinics aren't just for those who need help with their games. They're a good way to expose anyone to a variety of manufacturers, games, schematics and troubleshooting approaches.

Wow MarkG, fantastic work and education!!! Years ago I used to be on Team-EM on RGP. What fun we had helping others.(and myself : ) This is just great what you are doing. Thank you.

    #144 2 years ago

Thanks for the kind words Kickout and @cash_riprock. I was vaguely aware of Team-EM (and CARGPB?) at the time. I'd like to hear more sometime, maybe in its own topic. Who they were, what they did, how many are still active, etc.
