Quoted from vid1900:

That's why I won't buy an iPhone.
The 6 only costs Apple $200.10 to make.

If you count just the HW maybe. But if you count the real cost end-to-end you'll get a very different number... no different to any piece of HW, be it Apple, Samsung or Stern...

Quoted from Bronty:

I would say there are probably lots of people who either want one new as stated above, or live somewhere outside the US where finding one isn't that easy. I'm in Canada so it's harder but doable , now if I imagine I live in France or something I doubt I can just "go out and buy one" without some major hassles and risks that are sharply reduced with a remake.
I like the idea because I'm not shipping across a border this way. I can just buy from a distributor and the shipping risk is with someone else instead of squarely on me trusting "a guy" to pack it well and to come through with all promises and for there not to be any undisclosed issues nor any damage from hamfisted customs agents.
I'm sure different people have different reasons for wanting one. Not wanting one probably boils down to either space or price tag or it being too similar to other pins in ones collection

^^^ this. Finding a decent one in Australia is difficult, although I did have someone offer me one for $18K recently!

Not if you live in Australia...

USD6499 is about AUS8665 just on the exchange rate, not including freight, GST and anything else, so AUS8750 seems unrealistic. I had hoped it would've been around the AUS10K mark for the classic, but it is what it is I guess.. You couldn't get a original AFM for AUS10K in similar condition, so maybe AUS11500 isn't such a big step up. Can you tell I'm trying to convince myself to pull the trigger...?

Quoted from fosaisu:

From the follow-on post sounds like $8700 AUD covers the cost of the game itself in the US, so how much more in AUD to import a HUO in six months (packing, shipping, taxes, etc?). If that's still way less than distributor pricing might be worthwhile.

Warranty...

Quoted from Pinrookie:

I think you should get one just close your eyes and do it. This is what I did when I bought my AFM. So far no regret. My family like this game very much. My wife and my kids think this is the best game ever.

Yeah, I placed my order a few days ago with Wayne. Now we play the waiting game, but I'm super stoked as this will be my first NIB game!

I've gotta say that Wayne was easy to deal with. We exchanged a few emails and then he rang me and spent half an hour just chatting. No hard sell, no pressure to order. I placed the order a couple of days later.

I didn't really love the look of the larger screen or the speakers... so I went for the classic.

Can't imagine Tron being re-made any time soon...
