Quoted from Skins:

Curious if a version of the bill ung mod will be included. I'm not a tech guy but I don't see how an ung board could be adapted to the new system pps/Chicago is using if not. While not essential to gameplay, it is something that should have been there from the factory. Looks fantastic.

If there's something factory controlling the lights I can promise you it's not Bill Ung's board.

I love AFM, more than MM, it's one of the few B/W games out there I'd still really like to own and I'd enjoy it if I bought it. But I suspect the price point will be a pass, unless it bucks the current game price trends. And really, does that feel likely?

Surprise me Rick!

Quoted from Rarehero:

But it's not up to Rick, it's up to CGC!

Yeah yeah, it's all shorthand. I don't care who's making it, just want to know if it's $8k so I can put it out of my mind.

It's a fun game, like I said I even prefer it over MM. But that people are even considering spending $8k on the most stripped down modern game in history blows my mind. The frogs have been boiled so long they're nothing but green collagen floating in the pot. The new normal in pinball sucks.

Quoted from the_one:

MMR didn't drop the price for original MM not one penny (or cent).

lol, okay, dunno what revisionist fantasy land you're watching prices in, but no one is paying $16-20k for MM anymore.

Quoted from RobT:

I will never understand how people think that the only thing upon which to base value is how much shit there is on a PF.

I begrudge no one their margin, but if you pad it too much on a mass produced commercial device I'm gonna pass. Doesn't seem that hard to me.

I don't consider David Thiel a "worker bee".

Quoted from Rarehero:

I've already got the remake! It's the Super 3D Hologram Edition! Revenge From Mars!

And just like Hollywood remakes it's worse than the original, loaded up with special effects and missing substance!

Quoted from metallik:

Not even close. Avaturd is a barren wasteland compared to AFM.

Heh, I was being hyperbolic, but point taken.

And I'm not negative on AFM as a remake WackyBrakke, frankly it's the number one game I'd like to see them do as far as my personal remake list goes. F—k Cactus Canyon, it's not a great game, sorry. BBB is pretty, but it's also pretty boring (and it's not at all clear PPS has the rights to Capcom stuff btw). MB is great! But ... it gets old way faster than AFM IMHO. Attack From Mars is a great pick. Hope it comes out nice.

But if I seem negative it's because I'm assuming it's going to have a fat price tag that's going to make me cry inside and then pass. Because all jokes about stripped down stuff aside, it's a remake of an old game, and a few jiggly Martian coils don't equal an $8k game. And that's kinda that.

Maybe we'll be surprised.
