Wow,… this thread took a turn for the worst…
How in the world did we end up in this place? It is probably out of misplaced anger and frustration, I guess. I’m disappointed that it has made a left turn to violence, racism, and politics. We need serious hard discussions on those topics as a society but this thread isn't the place for them, at least in my opinion. It is unfortunate because John Popiduik’s swindling is serious and has affected many good people. The pinball community should be united in rejecting him and his works until and if his victims are made whole.
This off topic, name calling and arguing over what should or could theoretically happen to John using violent racist images, actually obscures Popiduik’s deceitfulness and thievery. He may be associated with a new company! He may attend Expo! That's the news! He’s the one who should be under scrutiny for what he did.
I was watching the thread evolve last night. It was interesting and surprising. I was readying a post saying that I was going to bring popcorn to Expo for everyone! Because if Popiduik does show up it certainly will be a spectacle for all to see. The biggest debate at that time was if his association and promotion for a new game was legitimate or if it was someone making it all up! (That included the original post and responses which have since been edited away) Now it has morphed into,… what is and what is not offensive or something along those lines….???
Pinballers should be organizing picketing and protesting the Expo hotel or the appropriate vender booth! Busying themselves making signs and coming up with catchy chants,…”Hell no, John must go!” Maybe a news crew would show up, that would be so cool! If John Popiduik has associations with a new company or pinball machine the spotlight needs to be shined on them asking for an accounting of his fraudulent actions in the past. This should be the case at every show they attend. Imagine the new company presenting their machine and the auditorium is packed with people John Popiduik has defrauded along with their friends, family and supporters. No not for violence, cartoon or otherwise but for a truthful reckoning and for the face to face answers his victims deserve.
