Are there any settings in the new software to put a ball save on when you hit séance targets? Every effing time I hit one it flies back and drains 50% of the time! So frustrating lol!

#10264 3 years ago

Bug: entering in high scores erases one of the letters (example: enter in ABCD it’ll post ABC). Anyone else experience that?

#10268 3 years ago
Quoted from rosh:

yes, known bug in beta, although normally it puts a = where the last letter goes. Will be fixed in next beta update

Thanks Rosh! This game is a tough one but satisfying when I finally figured out one of the shots it’s like my world opened up!

Love this game and my game has 130 plays, is it normal? Never owned Nib over the 20yrs lol, 1st picture is it what to expect on Nib games? One is a larger pockmark that I can feel with my finger. 2nd picture just a 20 mod for gold tmolding adds class. Thanks Eric for the Houdini marquee to match!

Quoted from HarryReimer:

Ordered.. Ill try it out. Thanks!

Yeah no problem just be careful when you pull the original off don’t put it too fast or you might tear at the wood. I need to add a little wood glue toward the end to make sure it stays in place but looks perfect. What do you think about the gouges? I know there’s thousands of post about it but if you can feel it with your finger is that a concern?

Quoted from zahner:

I too Had been collecting for well over 20 years and Houdini was my first NIB game. I too was concerned about similar dimpling, but everyone said it was normal and that it would not impact play and that it would eventually cover the playfield.
Well, it’s been well over 1.5 years and as far as I can tell, they were correct. My playfield has a very subtle pounded look to it that I only notice before I turn on the game. Once the game is on, I no longer notice it. It absolutely does not effect play.
That’s my experience.

Thanks buddy I appreciate the advice. I know this subject has been pounded to death (No pun intended lol) But I was just concerned about the one I could feel with my finger. I guess I’ll keep getting my butt kicked by Houdini but playing it more and more I get to learn the shots like most people say people don’t give this game the credit it deserves.

I’m installing the Knocker kit with the updated power supply from the factory. Since none of the photos match on the install kit where should the 48 V brown/black wires plugged into?

Thanks Lloyd But I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to open the unit and break the manufacture seal LOL. I figured I want to wait To get the OK from American Pinball before voiding my warranty?! LOL

#10351 3 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

Ask rosh or ferret They'd know. I don't do tech stuff for them, so I can't tell you to do something that would void your warranty.
LTG : )

Thanks buddy I just Contacted both. Hopefully they’ll post in the forum or PM me with a solution.

Quoted from rosh:

If your game has the new style of power supply, then the Knocker kit plugs into the add on board PCB0021 which should already have 48V hooked up to it. No other wiring is required.

rosh I’m not getting anything just plugging into DR5.

Working with Shalin From American Pinball and as usual to report top-notch service! I sent him the photos of my accessory board and it looks like mine is missing the 48 V plug but they’re going to send one on their way and that should correct any issues with the knocker And people that have the new power supplies.

Does anybody know if you can touch up the powder coat color on the Houdini lock bar? Mine came a little scratched up on the edge just wondering if anybody tried to match the paint.

#10709 3 years ago
Quoted from locksmith:

Im on the fence on this one.It seems like a love or hate game here. How have you long time owners feel at this time?

I’m sorry rosh and the AP family. I sold my first game because I wanted a NIB and then I apologize for almost selling my Houdini again! The master escape artist almost got away again but after I Dialed it in with the shaker and knocker upgrades, I haven’t looked back. This game is top notch and American pinball somehow is still a sleeper hit company. These guys deserve great success and rosh has programmed a beauty. Finally broke 2million lol.
