I wanted to start this new since it will do nothing with jpop and should have its own company thread.
Houdini is now joe balcers design... can you say Texas unveil.

wish I was going but ya looks like they will have a working game at the show

Quoted from frolic:

I don't know about that, in the end it is the same company. They were the ones that showed up in Vegas with "American Pinball's Houdini" and had flyers for it, went to Expo with it, etc.
If the game has changed, it is all part of the story documented in the first thread.
Hobbit changed a lot since Balcer left, but did the game get a new thread?
Alien changed a lot after Nordman left, but did it get a new thread?

Houdini has zero to do with zidware now. Small diff. New cabinet design, new play field design, diff board system.

Leave the jpop stuff in the jpop thread

#18 7 years ago

Well you have info that it's been redesigned, and they are bringing one or two games to Texas for you to see... sounds like progress

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

The cynicism in my heart is not unearned - I've seen us go from 1 manufacturer to about 8 in seven short years and the results have only blackened my soul.
So will these guys become the second pinball manufacturer since 1999 to be able to churn out fun, reliable, fairly priced pins on a regular, timely basis? Hey, maybe they can surprise me.

I appreciate that, we can only hope. Just give them time before we pull out the pitch forks... when they show the new stuff I want a diff thread from the jpop arguments

#45 7 years ago

I'm curious to see what joe came up with. I hope it's a fast game.

Quoted from SunKing:

Are you saying this as fact because you know, or just your speculation from the call you made to AP two months ago? Not trying to slam you...just curious if you have any new info.

He's correct

Quoted from AtomicChuck:

I got a Magic Girl, If Houdini is in the same cabinet I will hate it. I hate any game that requires you to close the coin door to take the glass off! Quite a pain in the ass! regardless I will buy Houdini after they help JPOP get my half finshed Magic Girl pinball in!

Jpop has zero to do with the new Houdini

Pinnovators amplifier in the game.

#212 7 years ago

I would think they will make some
Improvements

#224 7 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

are they using any pinnovators products in the game?

The amplifier is mine.

Quoted from TotanMan:

Pin looks awesome, but I prefer Jpops version, too bad that wasn't the design. Did they drop Jpop and really didn't want to associate themselves with him?

Jpop has nothing to do with this game. Yes they have zero to do with him on Houdini. And the old design wasn't playable

#259 7 years ago
Quoted from TotanMan:

Yes the current Houdini game has nothing to do with Jpop, but the first, unplayable, that was designed by Jpop, and that version I liked visually a lot more because it has a 90s feel to it. The current Houdini design is also cool. I even emailed the dudes at American-Pinball about buying one and got no response....
I don't know the details of Jpop making a prototype model, did he pitch the idea to those guys? They bought the idea from him? I saw a few large threads here but nothing with details.

Go to the jpop thread for that info... this is ap Houdini.. nothing to do with him

Quoted from Whysnow:

whom are the affiliated parties with this?

Is it safe to assume this will be using pinnovators sound components?

The current prototypes making the rounds to shows have our sound board, but their going a diff direction for production....
Still looking forward to grabbing a game when shipping starts.
