Quoted from rosh:

The ramps and subways came in late last week. I grabbed some photos before it got inventoried and put in the parts cage, so for those who like photos of parts . . .

Looks like the left ramp will remain plastic? I thought there was talk of changing it to a wireform? No worries either way, the game is looking to be fantastic!

#845 6 years ago
Quoted from rosh:

The last section will be a wire form, if you look the return portion it is half of what it was. We needed to keep the upper half plastic to still have the drop to the pops, and we also found if we made it a wire form where it crosses over the other wire form that feeds the catapult, there would not be enough clearance for the ball. This will transition to wire, right over the stand-up targets in that section, so it should be better aesthetically and should provide better visibility to the Stage Alley shot, which is the best way to start modes at the stage, since it doubles the value if you enter the stage via that shot.

Thanks for explaining, I figured there was a reason, and as usual it's all for the better. I can't wait for these to start shipping.

Can anyone confirm if the threads on the leg bolts are the same as regular type like Stern?
https://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=3391

While I see the Allen Head type they use fits with the theme, I would rather use regular types with nylon bushings.

#2824 6 years ago
Quoted from rosh:

Yes, besides looking better, these also use the same wrench as is used for the head -- one tool to do it all. I can understand the desire adding nylon bushing to it.

Thanks Rosh. Last question, so are the bolts same diameter so I can use nylon bushings on the stock Houdini ones? That would be cool.

#2831 6 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Pretty sure they are. I just grabbed some out of the parts bin (black ones) and they worked fine. Nylon bushings are pretty much mandatory since the coating is kind of fragile compared to normal powdercoating.

Thanks for confirming, I'm going to order up some black ones from Pinball Life.

Quoted from BarryJ:

Here is the other side of the amp..Covered by the monitor and were a powered sub would be connected.

When hooking up a sub do I use the two bottom black terminals? That looks like L and R negative, is that correct?

Quoted from LTG:

Tom's Hardware has a picture to help you.
LTG : )

As always LTG, you are the fastest and best tech support for anything. Can’t thank you enough for all the times you have helped.

Pictures for those that might help. Plus, I can hook my GOTG to the other input on the Sub and have them both rocking!

UPDATE: Not working with this configuration. Not sure if it's the sub settings or what. Zero sound out of the sub. Going to try and tap into GOTG Sub wires and goto the other line input on the Sub and see if I get bass.

UPDATE: You need to use the bottom speaker jacks red and black on either side left or right. Not the two middle - terminals.
I'm rocking now though!

Quoted from BarryJ:

Can not use (-) and (-)
Need (+) and (-)...pick a side, doesn't matter cause the sub is mono.

Got it, thanks for all the help guys!

EDIT: What a difference adding the Polk sub makes. The whole sound experience is so much better! Had to do some dialing in with the amp bass and cross over knobs but I have it working nicely, fills the room without being too much rumble.

Quoted from PinballTilt:

I'm out of the club. Houdini was not the right game for me. Fortunately it was easy to trade it for something else. American Pinball, you guys are great though and I wish you the best.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've owned just about every top Stern or W/B game over the years and Houdini is just a blast for me.
The shots are not that bad, but do require you to develop some skill. What I do love, and so does my wife is how the game tells you what to shoot for.
Her favorite game of all time was TOM, and this is version 2.0+. Loving Houdini, what a great experience.

Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

Sounds like they may be lower speaker grill foam inserts.
http://s4.american-pinball.com/img/support/2018-6/Speaker-Grill-Installation.pdf
Perhaps metal "clips" are replacement ball gates (?)

This is indeed correct. I got the same kit from JJ and installed the foam on the speaker grill. My ball gates are working fine, but it's nice to have the two extra backups in case one breaks...which I have seen happen to one on location.
