Going to be ordering a Houdini soon, any options I definitely need?

Quoted from Tuna_Delight:I recommend the art blades, magic glass, and shaker
Im sure the answer is easily found, but can any extras be factory installed?
Quoted from pinballinreno:And now the knocker!
Gotta have the knocker. Really excited, love the theme and gameplay videos ive seen. Machine is gorgeous.
Houdini is on it's way to North Dakota! Considered some other games too, but couldn't shake the feeling I'm going to love Houdini. Have never even seen one in person, and watched only a minute or two of gameplay. Hopefully will be here Friday!
Just got my Houdini unboxed yesterday. Three observations:
1. The game is remarkably beautiful
2. The difficulty of the machine seems to be very much overstated. The shots are tighter than some other machines, but im not a great player, and got dialed in pretty quickly. When you start making shots regularly, it is very satisfying.
3. I lifted the playfield to put in stadium lights, and a connection came loose and I lost coil power (I didnt know this was the issue at the time) At 4:45 central on a Friday, I got an answer at their help line, and had the game up and running in 5 minutes.
rosh can you comment on the timeline of a potential daughter board from AP? Is it something coming "soon" or should I look for a third party solution (any links to recommendations)? I'm loving my Houdini, but pinball for me is a social thing, and I often have friends/family over playing. When this happens, multiple machines are being played at once, and as a result the experience others are having on Houdini is definitely suffering. I want my friends and family to have a great opinion of Houdini like I do, especially as it has some tough competition lined up next to it (Dialed In LE, and MMr LE).
Quoted from bemmett:Is this related to low power thing? I have been having that problem lately as well on mine. I think it is cause my AC is always blasting and I just must not be getting enough juice to my game. I would notice it when I had a bunch of other games around it played. My catapult was always flawless before the hot summer months came and now it rarely makes the shot, also every other mech seems sluggish. At least I hope that is the problem and not something else
Yes, that is what I was referring too. I have the same issues - catapult is always short when other machines are on, and other coils seem sluggish (although not as noticeable as catapult).
Quoted from BarryJ:A larger diameter power cord wire would not help the low power issue, low power is low power.
But on the bright side... We will be releasing some information about this in the near future.
I like the sound of this!
Weren't there whispers of a daughter board not to long ago? Great game, but power supply definitely needs to be addressed.
Quoted from konjurer:Bummer that some are having these odd issues. I have #98 and mine has been rock solid since day one. No soft flippers, catapult works fine, VUK and scoop works fine and no wear at the scoop yet. The only issue I've had is that the upper catapult switch contact got sheared off when I pulled out the playfield.
Only issue for me is when multiple machines are being played at once. Play just Houdini, everything has been rock solid.
Quoted from PinMonk:Just got the notice from AP. New power supplies are available from them for people having issues with coil fade. $150 out of pocket, but they'll let existing customers have a $150 credit for their store to offset this:

Our goal at American Pinball is to provide quality games at affordable prices.
As many of you know, some Houdini owners are experiencing weak coils when the incoming AC voltage drops because of external loads placed on the service line. We have incorporated a new 48 Volt Power Supply to offset the effect of low incoming AC voltage on the coils.
We are selling the new Low Voltage Offset Power Supply for $150.00 which includes a switch mode 750-48 power supply, retrofit wire harness, hardware and shipping.
We greatly appreciate our customers and to show this, American Pinball will provide a $150.00 credit* with the purchase of the “Low Voltage Offset Power Supply” to be used either at our online store or towards the purchase of an Oktoberfest “Pinball On Tap” machine.
Purchase the power supply online at

Your Houdini machine needs to be registered prior to the power supply shipping, register your game at
