Check your subway mechanism leading up to the Seance scoop (it's the metal one with three IR receivers and three senders on it that goes over the plastic subway leading up to the scoop VUK under the PF). If it comes loose from the PF, it hangs too low and messes up the IR sensors so the game does lots of weird things, including launching lots of "surprise multiballs".

If it didn't say it was "updating code" first, you didn't copy the pkg file to the root directory of the USB correctly (it also has to be named exactly the same as AP designated, no "copy" or "(1)" or other things appended to the name).

Just updated successfully. It will go to red writing that says updating. Then ypu get tbe green pictured above.

Figured out the issue
File named itself
Houdini-gamecode (1).pkg due to the previous update in my downloads called Houdini-gamecode.pkg
Changed the file name on the zipdrive back to Houdini-gamecode.pkg and the update worked

Yeah, you might want to create a dated directory for each update so that doesn't happen.

Introducing Franken-Houdini with all original parts except the wire gate from a 1970s Williams pinball machine. I’m waiting on the replacement gate from Barry but had one to try.

Just updated code and about to play.

I'm in and love it! Received it yesterday, really got to admit this is a heck of a game for their first game..5-10 games in and finding shots and able to hit them all. WOW this made my day after having to get out on my Pirates CE...and dang an update already...gotta go

Got my code updated without a hitch.
Love that monkey match at the end of game!

Mr Josh. With high hopes of finally getting my machines next week (Finally!!) long ago you mentioned doing some updated light show animations and wondered if that was done or still in the works? Seemed like the only thing missing though not all that important just a nice finishing touch. Just curious.

There's still a lot of light work left to do to really polish it up, IMO. I'm sure it's on the list.

It is a one ball mode, but I've tested in a few times this morning and not seeing that, if it happens again feel free to pull the log and send it to me. Typically if something just happened, you only need to send me log.txt and whatever is the highest log number, typically it will be txt.10

work has started where hopefully the next update will include a change where future update packages will have the release number in the name, so this problem will eventually go away.

Tragedy plus Time equals Humor, while not sure I would call it a tragedy, clearly some feel that way, I felt it was a little too soon (both for those with deposits and JJP), so . . .

This release had a couple of new lightshows, some new sounds, some new, improved or fixed animations, but there will be more of that kind of clean-up. There is actually a few items missing or half complete. The Super Secret Mission is coded but untested and has no music yet. I've not heard anyone reaching the two that are currently in the machine and since I consider Secret Missions to be the hardest part of the game, figured no huge rush. And of course the Master Magician mode is still missing, which is in progress, and although you would be able to get to Master Magician without doing the mini-magician modes, I'll still being finishing the secret mission first.

There are also some other "should have" things that need to be done, for example 'loading pre-defined settings' some of which comes from this being our first game.

If you looked at the whiteboard in my office, you would have gone with a higher number. In addition, beyond that I could see where improvements we make while working on Game 2 would flow back to Houdini. After all, Houdini is a game I plan to have in my game room.

I had the two ball thing happen during Needles last night as well, if I see it again I'll pull the log.

Great to hear about your plans for continued support and refinement. Please pardon the continued comparison but if A.P. continues to support and improve code for games long-term like JJP has with WOZ (and presumably the others but WOZ is the only one I own) I'll be even MORE likely to buy additional AP games in the future!

Been reported that Match Feature 'Off' is not working correctly, so, you are either stuck with the Match being On, or the attract mode being messed up after a game where the match sounds will continuously play. To not award credits you can set award to None (will still match based on percentage but award nothing) or you can set the percentage to 0 and it will never match but you still get animations.

Your logic does not follow. Here is my logic stated differently:

IF it does not have a knocker THEN I do not buy it

I noticed when I updated the code last night that all the playfield lights were on except the insert light 'N" on Houdini.
Just odd things I always seem to notice that mean nothing....
