It’s awesome, Isn’t it? I love the fact that it’s not easy. Good looking game too

Seriously, it pisses you off and makes you keep coming back for revenge.

I can see why snowflakes melt away after a couple games on it

And is that pirate out of the hat a swipe at jjp? Hilarious!

Yes. Great game, especially for home. Similar to TZ when it came out. Great home game, not so much for commercial use.

LTG : )

It is. There are friendly digs to everything from that to TNA.
Awesome game.

Ya, I caught that one too.

I ordered that knocker like you told me to. And the add on board which I think is for it.

I’m confused. I’m not ripping jjp, or stern. I’m just saying that the game is great, the cabinet is great and the service is great. It’s the first new game I’ve bought (in the last six) that didn’t have major issues. Plus , dealing with stern isn’t so easy. I love all companies that build pinball machines. I’m just saying American pinball seems like the best currently. I would buy another Mark and Pinball before any other companies game based on my recent experience. Although I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind having wizard of oz. I think that game is underrated too. All games will have issues. I get it. But American Pinball seems to be the fastest to respond. And that’s important when you care for your games the way I do

I dont think he was going after you dude, he was agreeing. That the game is hard makes one
Mad and keeps one coming back for more, and those that can't handle that just say the game is bad.

The better question is why doesn’t everybody love their games and game rooms as much as we do? And if they don’t have games and a game room, what’s wrong with them?

#11017 3 years ago

For the four Houdini/WOZ gang, how do the games compare? I’ve only played WOZ a little bit at shows. It’s a drop dead gorgeous playfield, and I have fun batting the ball around, but I’ve not played it enough to really know what I’m doing.

WOZ has come and gone twice in my house. I figured I' was missing something, so I got it a second time. It's great for a little while, but was not a keeper for me. Super deep ruleset, tons to do - 2 mini playfields! I just could not get into it. Houdini remains...

Same here - WOZ is stunning to look, but the gameplay is not my cup of tee. So for me Houdini over WOZ, cause the gameplay is streigth forward!

I just got both games about a week apart. So far I am enjoying both very much. I just ordered the pinstadium leds for the WOZ, The playfield is dark and I seem to miss a lot so I am sure this will improve my scoring a bit. Will let you know in a couple months but after a lot of research I was definitely interested in both manufacturers, build quality and rules. I plan on keeping both games for a long time. Maybe add a Stern later on. Really enjoyed TMNT but opted for the Houdini.

WOZ, for me is the greatest game I’ve ever played. Love it. I’ve owned mine since ‘14 and it would be the last game to go. Houdini is a really cool title, I’m enjoying owning it thus far!

AP is the closest thing to JJP, in terms of build. JJP still feels more substantial in the hands to me (when playing)... and the color changing LED Light shows are quite a few steps ahead of AP.

AP has a really good thing going - not knocking them. I really appreciate their commitment to quality and interaction. They give you a TON for the coin.

Totally agree. Maybe not re: WOZ. I want to like it! It just hasn’t clicked. Most of my games are kind of a “horror” theme so perhaps that’s part of it. Houdini is much more engaging for me for some reason. You are spot on about the AP build quality! It’s like night and day between their games and my 1 Stern..’

The difference between AP and Stern is night and day. I will say that my original AC/DC Prem feels like a tank... but that’s a build from yesteryear. The modern stern build wreaks of cheapness.

AP is paying attention. They’re giving buyers all the niceties they dream about... for some reason, pinball voices (such as Kaneda) have formed opinions from a far with bi actual real world experience. Too bad a voice like that can damage a brand.

Who doesn't love their Game room? I may not have a WOZ but I have an Oktoberfest...given the topic, that should count, right? O'Fest is a blast...another underappreciated title.

For this, and many other reasons, I have come to the conclusion that I am not looking to Kaneda for any sort of recommendations. I've lost count of how many times he's turned out to have made snap judgments that turned out to be totally wrong. And the Cancel Culture he creates regarding rumors and just making stuff up is really not positive for the community. Just my opinion, mind you.

That said - you are right - there are a LOT of people who have sort of made up their minds without ever really playing the game. I've found the same with Multimorphic - lots of people talked trash about it, but MM just leveled up with Heist. That game is PACKED!

Does it count as number eight if there happens to be a SuperPin full of Cpt. Picard's crew and their antagonists between the two?

While I agree with the great build quality of AP, I can’t get past the flipper issue. I’ve owned the game just over a month (NIB) but I haven’t turned it on in 10 days. I wish I was one of you guys that don’t seem to have any issues but I can’t play a full game without it happening and it just aggravates me to no end. So I put my time into my 5 Sterns and 1 Williams. While I hope the new fix works and comes soon, I’ve been on the fence on letting this one go.

Sorry man - that does suck if it's happening so often. Sounds like a fix is being tested though! Fingers crossed...

Can’t wait for the fix too. The flippers just go soft and will not push the ball. I feel like giving it viagra sometimes so the flippers stay stiff during the whole game.

I'm in the same boat.
I've had my Houdini for about 4 months. I never play it because of the flipper issues. I'm seriously considering selling it because of the flippers.
I hope the fix comes soon before I decide to sell.
