Looks like the pop sub assembly station has completed quite a few pop mechs and those are ready to get moved to the station on the assembly line as needed.

Note that we are using lugless coils in most places which reduces risk of electrical issues and speeds up assembly on the line. All coils, except flippers, are 23-800

looks great....... but i hate the Data East klak klak klak sound from the pop bumpers.
They make this sound because of the plastic housing.
Newer pinball machines also have stronger pops (timing), so i hope the plastic won't break.

Don't all pops make this sound?

rosh Can we get a code % complete update with 5 digits of fidelity? I feel like your previous 4 digit %’s didn’t convey enough detail.

DE SW is different sound. I have not heard the "klak" sound on any other pins that I can remember. It does seem to fit the SW pin though.

running the calculations, stand by . . . .

Excellent. Your 83.345 percent further than Batman 66. lol I appreciate the updates and quality your team is putting into this title.

Was walking through the factory today, grabbed a couple of quick photos . . .

Given these bags of sand are half empty, the rest must be at the start of the line . . .

IMG_2654.JPG (resized).pngIMG_2654.JPG (resized).png

These huge pallets of color displays were being delivered, glad I'm not the one who has to break these down and put them in the parts cage, although some will go right to the back box line where they are needed.

Sand? Not sure I understand that one. Did you add an hour glass to the game? lol

#860 6 years ago

I have to say this game appears to be shaping up nicely. Great theme and game integration. It was fun to play at AllenTown last year so I can't wait to play the production version. So far, it is definitely on my short list to own some day soon.

PlaySand? From Home depot...Hummm. Hour glass best guess i could think of.
I like that in my mind.. I see my Display there on pallet, middle row front pallet.!
Love the updates, Thanks Rosh!

Are you still aiming to ship these by the end of the year?

I'm thinking sand is to age the chain in a tumbler.

And if it isn't, that's a fabulous mod idea

And maybe through some sort of oxidizer in there to make them change color. Kind of anti-polish tumbler.

#868 6 years ago

Reference sand: There's a daycare center under the playfield. You put your infant through the coin door and you both can play.

Best Lower play field ever!

Sand would not age the chain more strip it to raw clean again. Plus I'm fairly certain its plastic chain which would remove the plating. I'm going to go with the daycare center concept. lol

Yeah, you're right, the chain is plastic. I can tell from the picture that the connecting links are cut to attach to the locks. So that leaves sandbox or hourglass.

#872 6 years ago

Sand could be used for little tiny stage sandbags used for counter weight or line pics.
Also used to fill something for ballest.

Putting REAL sand or silica in tiny bags is asking for trouble. They'd be better off with the plastic SHAPE of a full bag and putting THAT inside the bags to give the illusion of full bags.

Or it Could be used as a diversion to give us to talk about and discuss while they build our games! Lol

Yes agreed. I was just having fun with the picture above that has us all guessing what the sand is for.
I dont think sand belongs any where near a pinball machine.

#876 6 years ago

Really hoping for Great news, pics and updates by this time next week following Expo

#877 6 years ago

OK. I got it now. Sand is for the cigar ash buckets outside by the loading dock.

is sand not used to make molds for casting metal? Hmm?

The work of casting metal is child's play in the 21st century. Chinese kindergarteners, to be specific. Outsourced, FTW.

#880 6 years ago

Sand. perhaps it's for their new breakroom.

Sand inside a pinball machine would probably be a bad idea, although love the idea of the hourglass. Love all the guesses on the sand, none are correct. Although the actual use for the sand is far less interesting, I think I'll leave you guessing for now..

Plastic indeed, but no longer chrome as it was in the prototype, now a more appropriate aged look, although I am sure some will want it even more weathered then this. I happened to grab this photo today while I was at the office . . .

We are very much on track to be shipping machines this year.

Here are a few more photos I took today, legs, rails and some heads on the backbox line.

It's for when a competitor is gloating about victory, you can tell him to go pound sand.

#883 6 years ago

I don't know why, but for some reason I love to watch pinball factory pics.
The backbox design really stands out. Classic, but with a unique twist. And room for a decent audio system.
Thanks for sharing.

Rosh, hard to tell. Is it the same powder coat color we saw on proto's on tour?

#885 6 years ago

Pictures of armor above look black, the proto on tour had more of a pounded brass look. These pictures are of the Pagg game in May.

I really like the artwork. Can't wait to see the production model in Holland in November!

#887 6 years ago
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

Yes same exact color as before for all armor (legs, lockdown bar, head brackets and lollypop side rails). For those who were at SFGE, those games had the wrong color legs, and wrong style of bolts.

There has been a change made to the legs and leg placement so that that game should be properly level when all leg levelers are fully in. Now this is a Balcer designed playfield, and Joe likes his games a touch shallower then many of you, so some of you will find that all the way in is not quite what you want.

Darn it Josh! You weren't supposed to tell on me. One little mistake and you throw me under the bus. LOL Just kidding. I forgot to bring them so it was my fault and had to improvise.

Hey, I did not name, names, so you sorted or outed yourself But you do know I will never let you live it down, no matter how much moonshine I might absorb, well, I guess if you sell 500 Houdini's I'll let it go

rosh looks like the LED Tmolding did not make the final cut?
Probably easy to add as Aftermarket?

Will American Pinball be at IAAPA this year?

I'm glad the LED molding didn't make the cut..

Yeah glad others convinced them to omit an Included feature you could turn off because a few individuals didn't like it. Umphhh. More is never bad, to ask them to do Less than they want to is questionable.

How does an LED molding integrate with a Steampunk theme? Consider it something you can add to your mod portfolio...

lol, fair enough. Just saying if one didn't like something they wanted to include Free with an off switch setting seems like buying it from me would be off to the people that liked it. I will take my game Any way they choose to build it personally. I also unplug the knocker in my games because of my dogs. Please don't take it out though thanks.

Since they can't use lead, wich would be appropriate, they just take led as the next best thing.

Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:

There was very little support for it internally, I personally was not in favor of it, and the main proponent did not put up much of a fight. It would have been very hard to fit it into the BOM, and no way could I see doing that vs things we would have to drop. Could it come back as an add-on, possibly, but I doubt it.

Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:

Not sure what are plans are, have not been paying attention, been focused on code

Here is some 'parts porn' for those who like that (Lower portion of trunk, part of the stage). . .

IMG_2664 (resized).JPGIMG_2664 (resized).JPG

Not "parts porn', but here is a photo some of you have been waiting for . . .

Here is where the sand ended up. This "sand box" will now head to the front of the line. I'm sure someone can figure it out now. If not you can ask me at expo!
