It appears that American Pinball has dropped John Popadiuk from the HOUDINI design team. Unclear if they are still dedicated to fulfilling any Zidware obligations (Magic Girl, etc...) This was posted on American Pinball's facebook page as of 8PM EST tonight:

"Happy Holidays everyone. As the new year is upon us we too have something to be grateful for. We're happy to say that we've made some great progress on Houdini, our first original pinball machine. The rumors are true, we have started fresh, from the ground up, with our new team and reimagined the game in ways we never thought possible.
While it's too early for pictures to share just yet, we felt it was important to share that our American Pinball team is growing and we're proud to say that we've added some well-respected experienced pinball professionals to our American Pinball family.
Thanks for all your support so far and please keep a look out for more details and another update later this week."

Interesting. Curious to see who is designing the game. Also, want to see what happens to the art, which I thought was stunning.

They need to put up first, and shut up until then. Something conclusive, tangible, and worthy of any potential considerations of trust or confidence needs to appear with reassurances and guarantees.

It took a bit but they got smart. Watching to see what comes about. Hope they do good.

Yeah yeah. I hear 10 people a month on Pinside say they're building a game.

Didnt a famous person recently say, " once you're fucked.....you're fucked. There's no getting unfucked. "?

But, their January 1st post did state:

"Happy New Years toe everyone. We appreciate everyone's support & interest in the progress related to Magic Girl and how American Pinball is supporting Zidware with the manufacturing of the
    machines.
As many of you have mentioned, due to some unexpected Zidware administrative & legal challenges, the company has been unable to ship the pinball machines as originally planned. However, things are looking up for 2017 as the company is making good progress and hopes to have an update for Magic Girl customers and the pinball community very soon. In the meantime, Happy Holiday to everyone. Stay tuned for more updates"

SOO .. apparently there will be an update on MG soon.

Interesting first post from the OP.

AP had already distanced themselves from JPop saying they were helping Zidware to get MG out to owners. This sounds like a complete collapse.

I have mixed emotions about holding any promises against them since in the end we all know JPop screwed them out of time, money and reputation.

I have zero interest to read about an unproven company's unfounded claims of progress.

They should refrain from promoting themselves until they have a product. They've already started the cycle of missed deadlines.

As published last night,... look out for more details and another update later this week."

Shouldn't be long now until we learn the plan.
