Hey Everyone!
I am making progress with my latest pin. I inherited a fixer-upper that has the original orange filter cap, and no grounding mods. I figured I'd start by replacing the filter cap with the one pictured below (from gpe). Also, I purchased some 18 GA AWS stranded wire (circuit specialists) and bifurcated edge contacts (arcade shop).
1. When I replace the orange capacitor, should I desolder the wires and attach terminals for the new capacitor, or can I unsnap or pull off the terminals from orange cap and attach to new cap? I wish these things had instructions. Fortunately, I do know which is +/- based on previous threads. (I added a pic from my data east tmnt backbox capacitor. I'm thinking these are the wire terminals/contacts needed for my new 12000 uf 25V cap? I'll make sure to use correct sizefor 18 GA wires.)
2. For the additional wire harness ground and +5V, is there a specific orientation for the pin to be inserted into the edge connector housing? I know opposite ends should have bifurcated contacts rotated 180 degrees from each other to prevent wire twist during insertion
Thank you all for your time and expertise!
