Up in the Northwoods of WI for the weekend, did some fishing and swimming, then headed out to a little place to eat. Place has ALL the northwoods ambiance.....and there is a Fish Tales in the back corner.

I know it's not an EM, but I really like this game!

What a great weekend !

LTG : )

#3 10 years ago

It has started out pretty good.

I'm an em guy..so didn't know if I should name this post...Living the highlife, or ..Visiting the darkside.

#4 10 years ago

Fish Tales can be pretty mean and have quick ball times like a lot of EMs I've played, so it's not that dark-sidey, LOL.

#5 10 years ago

You gonna post or ya gonna fish??

#6 10 years ago

Felt guilty, so had to check back to see if was OK.

#7 10 years ago

If the night ends in a card game with friends while you have your favorite brew, then yes. Yes you are living the High life!

It will end with a game of Jack's Open I believe. Happy father's day all you dads!

i'd say more like the sigh life, since you had to play Shit Tales. Better than not playing pinball tho.

Yes, be nice Neo! You are raining on a fellow pinhead's parade. One lash with a wet noodle for you!

Thanks Stretch, you too.

#14 10 years ago

I found mostly Sega pins up in that area.

#15 10 years ago

All you need is a Miller High Life and your weekend is complete.

#16 10 years ago

I was being nice. I said it's better than NOT playing pinball.

THe only games that would be worse than not playing pinball at all would be Xfiles and SF2. Those 2 games i'd rather have nothing.

#17 10 years ago

I was just up North near Phelps last week. In Eagle River there is a place called Alexander's Pizza. Last year I discovered that they had a decent arcade with 3 pins. One of them a Gottlieb Big Hit. Still 10 cents a game! For an Em guy that was pretty exciting to find in the wild. Sadly it was all but inoperable this time. It needs a shop job very badly. They also have a Jurassic Park and South Park. JP was turned off, South Park played fine but I didn't care much for it.

I've never played a FT on site before but I can imagine it's quite easy to spend a lot of cash in a very short space of time. Even my current high score game of 850m probably lasted under 10 minutes. My average is maybe 4.

#19 10 years ago

Were you the one playing the FT in the stream in that other thread?

#20 10 years ago

Not me.

Wow, feeling the highlife today.

I'll have to swing over to Eagle River sometime for sure.

#21 10 years ago

I would guess that WI has more FTs on route than any other state!

They are all over in the northwoods or any cabin/lake area even.

#22 10 years ago

FT is an awesome game.

Quoted from CaptainNeo: THe only games that would be worse than not playing pinball at all would be Xfiles and SF2. Those 2 games i'd rather have nothing.

I'll always agree with you on Xfiles, but I've never played SF2. I've heard it's pathetic for sure, but is it worse than Barb Wire?

#23 10 years ago

Where in the north woods were you that had the ft?

#24 10 years ago

So, quoting Fish Tales: "How big was it?"
I tend to like FT humour, and it must be fun playing it after doing the real thing!

#25 10 years ago

Wow....small world. I live just south of Eagle River, and actually visited JJ's Pub & Grub in Boulder Junction to play Fish Tales on both Friday & Saturday. Did I mention I own a couple of motorcycles and enjoy the hell out of bike rides through the Northwoods to pin locations?

Its the only Fish Tales on route that I know of in the Northwoods.

One of these days, I'll post a thread on my review of all the Northwoods pins on location.

Will be looking forward to that.

#27 10 years ago

I think these two would say they're living the high life!

You sir, are living da High Life!

I bought my FT after playing one on site at a hotel in Gladstone, MI. It was too rough to fish one day, so a buddy and I played it all night.

#29 10 years ago

I can't think of a higher one.

John, I was at JJ's on Fri, left about 6ish. Small world indeed. I also look forward to your northwoods pin post.

Heads up... If you post the actual locations you can be sure that some of them will disappear off the route. Some members here already are very skilled in buying pins off of route. Give them a location or an OP name and you can expect your favorites games to disappear forever.

#33 10 years ago

Food for thought.

Yeah, but who would buy Fishtales?

Only people with good taste...

My parents live in Land O Lakes..heading up there next week. Can't beat the Northwoods

Bent's Camp is my hot spot over there. Weather says sunny and in the 80's next weekend!

I've had a Barbed wire. It's not horrible , but it does suffer from unfinished software, since premire packedup shop after pushing BW through the door. Yes SF2 is worse.

You are right my friend. Always hit it up for food and drinks
