Am I an idiot for not jumping on a nice JM for $1250? I set up a date to pick it up, but then got the flu. Hopefully he still has it, but just figured I'd make sure that's a very solid price.

Flu not your fault price is good if it is decent shape. You don't always see them as low as people say 'you should' get them for so when you see one for that price and you like the pin don't hesitate.
I don't think it's a bad price. It's probably right about where it should be, so I wouldn't kick myself if I missed it.
I wouldn't call you an idiot, I would say even if I had a fever of 104 I'd still be on the phone
making sure he still had it and that he was not selling to someone else.
Hopefully he still has it? Dude, make the phone call and seal that deal.
Yeah, it's been a rough few weeks...
First, I get the flu; then my 5 month old twins get RSV and then one of the twins (Rihanna) and my wife get a really bad case of pink eye. Pinball just hasn't been my priority.
EDIT: I did email to let the guy know, that I couldn't make it last Sunday, but I haven't had a chance to setup a new date yet. Will probably do that tomorrow, if it hasn't sold to someone else.

That sure sounds like a crappy few weeks indeed. Hope everything turns around quickly and you bring home that JM!
If it was in California, then I would consider it to be idiotic, BUT since this is Wisconsin, I'll say you did the right thing.
Sounds about right. Pinside price is $830-970 but that's a tad low. I suspect it will still be there, but who knows.
The lower portion of the cabinet decals should be orange and not yellow. just an fyi.
I never see any pins for even close to the price people say they should be. Either they are liars or damn good at tlking people down on price. Most of the encounters I have had with sellers is they will sit on something for a long time before they will come down on price much. I will also assume that a collector quality or close pin doesn't apply to the normal price guide? +1 on the price for Johnny Mnemonic, if anyone sees a nice one for that price let me know.
Quoted from TheJesus:Eric one in GB nice shape for 1,300 contact me for info.
any chance he lives in depere? owns a jp, jd, dm, dr. dude?
Quoted from Av8:Am I an idiot for not knowing what JM is?
Johnny Mnemonic. When in doubt, throw the acronym in the archive search and it will spit out the correct pin.
edit: archive search does not yield a result for JM... My bad.
am i an idiot, for answering my own questions? like, should i go to the bathroom? i'm sorry, but this thread is pointless. if you want the machine, you'll buy it regardless if its 700 or 1700. my 2 cents.

It has been a bad year for cold/flu. Everyone I know has been sick this year with something. I was sick in Dec and then again about two weeks ago.
JM for 1250 is great. I think most fully working DMD games in good shape for less than 1500 is never a terrible buy. Maybe not a great buy but not terrible.
