I never delete anything I'm selling off Craigslist untill a deposit is at least in hand and I will give them a hand written reciept for Non Refundable deposit with a pick up date. And would not let any part of what I'm selling leave without full payment.
Also a handshake is not a binding deal. There are no legal deals without signature or some money changing hands.
