Alvin J. Gottlieb, son of David and Dorothy Gottlieb passed away this morning at the age of 86. He is survived by four children, Laura, Daniel, Michael and Joseph as well as a large number of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
I will post specifics for services as soon as I have them but it will be later this week in Oak Park, Il.
Words cannot describe the enormity of our loss. Dad was a true Gentleman. Kind and loving to all, he was happy and full of life all the way to the end

I am deeply sorry to hear this. Alvin will live on through the pinbally legacy he has left behind for all of us! I was just playing my Alvin G Mystery Castle and Gottlieb Big Shot last night. If it wasn't for the Gottlieb family business, I may have never got into pinball in the first place. RIP Alvin G!

Most of my favorite games have the Gottlieb name attached to them. I may have to reconfigure what is coming to Expo in order to honor the Gottliebs.

In the 1960's as a day dreaming kid in Elementary School, I would endlessly draw Pinball machine layouts.
i felt it was my career path then. Id fold them up and mail them off to Bally, Chicago Coin, and Gottlieb, among others.
Gottlieb was the only one to respond. (cant blame them for a 9 year old sending in "Pin 3000" pictures).
We had many exchanges, and met up in later years, he was a Gentleman, in the truest sense.
He will be missed.

Time for everyone to play on Gottlieb in his honor.
