Once you get enough hits in the tree pops to light the Haunted collect hole (7 hits spell Haunted) you can then hold both flippers to stop the pops from popping. Release a flipper and they pop again. You can keep doing this and it will help you influence the ball into falling down into the hole instead of popping back out into the middle. When collect is not lit the pops always pop as normal no matter what you do with the flippers.

I like to plunge all the way to the trees where I can usually get enough pops to lit collect (a little nudge or two helps), then hold the flippers to get the ball to drop into the hole to start a Haunted mode. If I'm doing well, I can launch into the tree pops, light Haunted scoring collect with enough tree pop hits, hit both Monkey targets to light Collect Dorothy, then hold both flippers to pause the tree pops to allow for a nice drop into the hole to start Haunted scoring. Then just left flipper to Collect Dorothy via the Monkey pick up and lock her up. Super awesome.

If I don't get enough pops right away it's not too far away and I use the double flip hold to get it into the hole as soon as it gets back to the trees. Usually if collect is already lit when I plunge the ball I immediately hold both flippers to pause the pops and it will drop nicely into the hole (not a guarantee though).

I love that you can pause the tree pops like that and IMO don't hear enough praise for that feature.

The behavior is adjustable in the settings, but I don't recall the specifics off hand. I think you can turn it off, always on, or just when collect is lit.

I've had my WOZLE for 1 year this month and after 800+ games it's still my favorite. I've set the coil strength to suit my prefs with a steep pitch and it plays great.
