If you think LotR is a long player, you can make a few simple physical changes that will shorten your game times quite a bit. I did this with mine when I took it to Dory Hill knowing that Pin-Golf can take way too long if game times aren't managed well.

Big yellow rubber bumpers on both sides of the Merlin lane and the Aragorn Ramp. Remove inlane rubbers and outlane posts. Replace bats with lighting fleepers, adjust tilt to whisper setting. Your average game will now land somewhere between 9-13 million points. At least it does on mine.

All of these mods are simple to do, inexpensive and are easily reversible.
