For future reference,

The trough lane switch has to close before any scoring will occur. That's how it knows the playfield is valid. If the ball drains again before that switch closes, then it will just kick it back out, thinking it didn't eject properly in the first place.

Check that switch.

Thats a filter cap, used for the 5VDC supply, if I remember right.

It has wire leads that are wrapped aroudn the lugs and then run to the board. Thats how they were installed from the factory.
