So I recently acquired an Allied Leisure Spooksville. I opened it up and immediately noticed that the .10 and .25 cent coin chute relays are missing. My question is will the game play without them? The game lights but doesn’t play a game obviously since I’m asking this question. There are credits on the wheel. Someone stripped the coin door at one point and I don’t know if I’m missing anything else because I have a stray plug which I believe once belonged to a connection to the coin door wiring. Thanks.

The game will work without the coin chutes.

You are missing them, and the coin switches and coin door wiring harness. You'd need to figure a way to add credits to the game.

Quoted from Murphdom:

There are credits on the wheel.

It might be rigged so it doesn't step down when you hit the start button.

I was thinking the same thing. All my games are set to free play. I haven’t had a chance to really dig into it yet. Once I throw some legs on it I’ll take a look at it.

Nice pickup! I think those shaker-pins are really cool!

I forgot to mention I did find two wires that look like they might have been jumper wires floating around the inside of the game when I opened it up. They clearly were never soldered anywhere. Someone must have just twisted them on by hand somewhere and they fell off. I’m guessing one for the free play and one for the start relay.

Thanks for the pictures they were helpful. I finally took a good look around. I found that I am missing the “chute” card. I hope that it’s not important . I attached the the photo of your game and circled the part. I also found that someone disconnected these two wires and tucked them away from the credit wheel. My total player meter is also missing so I’d be interested to see what the wiring looks like around that area since my door wiring is stripped.

I don't think anything you are missing is going to be necessary to get it flipping. That card determines how many credits per specified coin. Which doesn't matter with game set to freeplay. We're you able to find a jumper like my pic I sent you?

I didn’t try jumping it yet. I’m kind of curious why they disconnected those wires though on the back of the credit wheel though. I’m going to reattach them and go for it I guess. I don’t see any other hacks so why not.
