ALLEY PASS PINBALL LEAGUE
Description:
A FUN LEAGUE FOR BEGINNERS TO SKILLED PLAYERS. WE MEET ONCE A MONTH SATURDAY @ 6PM @ Richfield Bowl. WE HAVE PLAYOFFS AT END OF SEASON. WE PLAY IN GROUPS OF 3 0R 4, AND USE SCORE SHEETS WHERE PLAYERS HAVE POINTS/AVERAGES BASED ON THEIR PERFORMANCE SIMILAR TO BOWLING.
There is also food and drinks (& alcohol) available.
Machines will be located in the arcade and the concourse. (MORE ROOM NOW)
RULES:
We break up the players into groups of 3 or 4 seeded by total cumulative points (the first session we seed players by a combination of IFPA rankings, known skill level, and past performances). You then move up or down groups for each session, based on your point total. Each session we play (5) 4 person games on different machines, with points given as follows: 7 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, and 1 for 4th (or 7, 4, 1 for a 3 person group).
A total of 35 would be the max a player could achieve in a single night, but it's a rare occurrence. Add up the points for a season and that's your rank. At the end of the regular season we split the group into "A" (top 8 players), "B" (next 8 players) and "C" (next 8 players) groups (etc). We then have an end of season double elimination tournament to determine final standings. It's a pretty good system and allows you to play against players of similar ability for handicapping purposes. The way the monthly seedings work, you are always playing in groups with players who are playing to your accumulative level. For example: group “1” is seeds 1,2,3,4. Group “2” is seeds 5,6,7,8, and so on.
SO, you shouldn't have a greatly skilled player playing with an amateur!
Fees/prizes:
players pay $5 per league meet and receive a raffle ticket. the $5 goes towards the prize fund, food. At end of season, we will draw at random, the winner for the pinball machine and other prizes (me and my family not included). save all of your tickets you get from each league meet. in all fairness, A player can only miss 2 league sessions max to be eligible for the prize drawings. you cant just show up one day, pay $5 and get a ticket, then skip out until last league night and expect to win a machine. if you miss more than 2 league nights, you can still play in the league of course, you just can't win any of the random prize drawings on the final night that everyone else paid proper monies towards.
Also, the winner of each Division will get a Trophy/Plaque.
There are also normal coin drop to play machines. its a location and machines are kept in pristine operating conditions. Each player receives IFPA ranking points as well (pinballrankings.com)
