    Quoted from Guidotorpedo:

Geez buddy.... hope you get well soon.
The show was great... I sold every gane I brought but one, and I bought a nice F14 at a decent price. Crowd seemed lighter (covid, summer), but still Wall to wall people.
Jax and I did get nervous for sure with the show approaching, and the delta numbers increasing. She was great about masking up. I was not as great, but it’s tough to do when talking to people in a crowded event and trying to breathe after moving 300 pound monsters. Will be interesting to see where the world is in two weeks.... I feel like if the show went off mid-august that it might have fallen victim to regulations, so we were fortunate to get it in.
Prices were pretty much nuts. I think (hope) people are starting to realize that only top tier games should bring top dollar. No, your judge dredd with three legs and dead dmd is not worth 4K. Sorry. I also think the usual summertime market contributed to less sales.... but nice games and priced right games didn’t have a problem moving, IMO. I don’t think cointaker had any new in box games for immediate sale... perhaps just taking orders on future runs? Big shortage out there of new stuff.
    Be well,
    Mike F

Which games did you sell and for how much?

I did see a few games listed that would have been in my usual Allentown Wheelhouse. That nice Bally Flicker for $450 obo looked like a great deal.

Not everyone was wearing cargo pants. Here's an example ---

My friend picked that one up. It's not without its switch issues but it was really in tremendous shape. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.

I was happy to see her on the pinball floor. We are an inclusive community. She clearly could have been at a pinball hangout from long ago. She looked fantastic and not afraid to be herself. Smart, too, wearing a mask.

Anybody know what that quicksilver was selling for ?

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Wasn't for sale, same guy who bought the Flicker. He just brings games for the floor. I think he's putting it back in his arcade today: https://www.scohybros.com/

It really wasn't in great shape (and he'll readily admit that) but it got a lot of play. He also brought Lightning.

    #109 2 years ago

Flicker seemed like a good deal at 450 obo. I wonder if he took it home.

    #110 2 years ago

Prices were not the greatest but I was surprised you could still get some working EM's for $500-$800. Prices were not as high as I imagined them to be. I took some newbies along and they had a great time. I bought a piece of pinball glass and a shirt. We went Saturday and seemed like there was many empty spaces. Anyone remember what the Simpsons Arcade game was listed for? I saw it was there in Todds video on Friday but was gone Saturday

Funny story, on Facebook, there is a group called Pinball Enthusiasts, I am a member. There was this picture posted from Allentown and I made this exact comment "The pink shorts should have cost him twice to get in".

Some snowflake named Loren Papasian kept stalking me and telling me I was a bully and using toxic masculinity. I told him to go get laid and great use of the victim card. Here was his last post:

"Jack in all honesty though, you attacked someone you don’t know for wearing pink shorts.
Sorry bud that’s toxic masculinity and bullying. I’m just being honest with you about that.
You don’t need to agree with me but that’s how the world sees it.
Best of luck, I hope you clear yourself of whatever demons you have that make you find happiness by putting others down."

And he posted a GIF of Bernie Sanders saying "Good Luck" underneath it.

Oh yeah, the moderator called me a Karen for my comment too!

Is this for real? Is this what we have come to? A comment about pink shorts at a pinball festival is the end of the world?

News flash: Middle age guys are dressing like middle age guys. Story at 11.

    #120 2 years ago

Seems like it was reverse Vibe with the pinball people waiting for prices to come down and the average homeowner looking to buy their first pin. Saturday was the busier day for me when typically it's Friday.

Seriously though, how would you like it if someone, unbeknownst to you, took a pic of you at a show and shared it on a forum for critique? You wouldn't. Nobody would.

I do agree the cancel culture stuff is ridiculous.

Her amazing hair creations mark her out from across any pinball hall, as she works for Marco Specialties setting up and running their stand.

I just wanted to answer that specific question.

Never owned a pair of Reebok's especially white ones and my skinny legs would be lost in cargo shorts ha ha.
Not sure where that leaves me in the 1/1 ratio. Like the song says I guess I just dont belong...
Show was good, just not 2019 good. Although vendor turnout was huge, lack of new games distros had on hand was lacking. Was hoping to bring home a new pin however nothing to make me pull the trigger. I left at 6pm fri, usually stay til the end

Shout out to all that made this happen. Look forward to it every year since getting into the hobby. Can honestly say I'll never miss this show barring my presence on planet earth has ceased to exist.
    Thank you!

The best deal on an em IMO was the Big Brave for $750.
Beautiful playfield, nice glass , nice cab and coin door.
    Played excellent.

Sounds like Allentown was still a decent shopping spot if you were open to games like this. I know most buyers these days aren't.

    Hope you are feeling better!

Quoted from CrazyLevi:I have COVID and I'm terribly disappointed to be missing the show. I was going to be there today, a one-day wonder. Fortunately the community really came through for me and is helping me fulfill a couple buying obligations I had, so that's great.
I'm curious what the show is like? How is attendance? Any feedback on the tournament?
How's the buying / selling? One source told me the pickings are pretty slim and it "seems like all the deals happened on the internet" now.
In recent years it seemed like this was partly, true, but show was still pretty good if you were interested in EM / early digital stuff. So wondering if anybody had any feedback on that.
The other Allentown thread just seems to be people hawking wares so thought I'd start this one up. Would love to see a walkthrough vid or whatever pictures you can post.

Funny, given current styles, I would have associated the pink shorts with a preppy, frat boy (not femininity), which has nothing to do with toxic masculinity.

Yeah, I talked to her briefly but she was quite skittish and at times she had a wide-eyed stare looking around the show
I think she came with her father or something.
Was leaving around the same time as she was with some gray-haired middle-aged man in Reeboks and shorts.

Nice that the counter-culture still digs pinball even as all those tough old punks from the 80s now cry about cargo shorts and their “old lady”!

Great show for sure. Had a blast. Bought 2 shakers from the pinshaker people. One for T3 the other for Whirlwind. Got to play GNR, ZEP, and Hot wheels. Quicksilver was my favorite game there. I cant thank the person enough who brought it.

Cargo shorts rule . You can carry valuables in your front pocket and reduce the odds of being pickpocketed . Thursday was brutally hot and humid glad I wore them. Spring & fall shows I wear 5.11 BDU’s. I always carry a snap on 5/8 x 9/16 offset box wrench. Having tactical pants for shows works for me.
