DAMN! I was checking that over to help me with my restoration. Beautiful cab!

That's what I love about the shows, getting to play games I've read about here but never played. Found out that:

Nascar is fun and I'd keep an eye out for one.
Mustang is a blast.
BSD was a bummer
High Roller Casino kept me coming back
Hobbit didn't excite me
MMr looks awful with a green DMD and the gold legs, etc aren't that nice.
Avengers surprised me because I didn't really enjoy it
TBL - pre-alpha code means not much to watch as a spectator
No desire to build a virtual pin anymore
No desire to own an AC/DC Pro anymore because we like Metallica a LOT better.

Rick I wanted to play your SW but there was ALWAYS a line on Friday to play. It looked great. Nice to meet you!

Does anyone know if that Cyclone and Swords of Fury in the front row as you entered the building sold? The Cyclone was having problems and it had "best offer" on it. I wanted to talk with the owner about it, but it turns out that I copied the number wrong . I remember that they were from Maryland. I didn't have room to take it home on Friday. If you happen to know this person, please let me know ... I believe they also had a PinBot for sale in the same row.

Was it just me, or were the siderail edges on that beautiful Whirlwind really sharp? I nearly cut my thumbs open when I first gripped the fiipper buttons!

I noticed on my past restores that the rails were like that. Its inherent of those replacement rails. I now break those edges when I replace the rails. I was impressed with the job done to that WW.

U cant judge alot of the pins at a show especially a pin like bsd . I hated it also but then got one shopped it and set it up super nice and its a favorite game now .it needs to be working 100 percent and you need to know the ruleset and really need to be able to hear it to get the best experience out of bsd .

Got to play BSD for the first time this weekend and I was seriously wondering WTF all the hype was about. I read about BSD being such a terrific game, but to me it looks very plain and boring and I didn't have any fun playing it. Tried and tried to like it, came back to it many times to give it a shot, but no love from me.

Come play mine you may change your mind

I didn't have my Star Wars there, that was someone else's.

I'd like that.

Quoted from Monster_Bash:

That BSD actually sold for $2300 on Saturday..day 2
Then it was put back in the show at the 'not for sale' price of 4k
I've found that even if you put 'not for sale' you still get bombarded with 'how much' questions.
Putting a stupid price on them completely eliminated this...thus it was a successful experiment

pfft, your experiment didn't work on HS2.

I played no fear and now wish I had room to squeeze one in at home My son LOVED it.

I agree with your son. I have always liked No Fear. Just wondering if it has staying power in home use. I will probably own one some day.

No Fear is a favorite at our house. My wife and I love competing against each other and friends always seem to find it their favorite too. Fast and fun pinball that has staying power here.

#864 4 years ago

I liked the Potc that was there, played well. Didn't have a price tag on it. I may be on the lookout for one. Sadly, no IJ, TZ, or TAF there to play.

I think Pinbot & Cyclone sold. My friend bought the SOF..

Yes, no fear one of the favorites at my place to when friends are over.

You can always make room,(I gotta spot for that ft) or keep your overflow at my place.

BSD is a great game and I want one but it's NOT worth 3k (well, maybe, if it's perfect). Too much overhype which will diminish in the coming years. With that said, this is the opinion of a guy who wants a project game with a project price. Just like my Getaway, I'd be in the market for an average condition one in the high 1k range.

That was eabundy's machine. He ALWAYS has his pins running nice, dialed in and more than fairly priced. GREAT seller!

Not really overhyped what other pins like jd, shadow, bsd , congo , roadshow , ft and some others are better for under 4k? These pins are just as fun if not better than many of the 4-5k pins so even at 3k they are still a deal

Thanks guys! I do my best. Bring my level and set them up the way I like to play them. I usually use LEDs but walk around them and make sure none have direct eye contact. Other games I take them out. Nascar I had a bunch in, but after looking it over decided I only liked them in the far back to accent the truck, and the track a little, the rest was standard lighting. Same thing happened with the striker extreme, I didn't like the LEDs in it, and pulled them. I couldn't find a setup I liked with it.

People talking about the person playing loud music I think it was coming from the Juke Boxes setup in the back of the hall. I was working on a machine and kinda liked hearing Elvis once in awhile, was a good change up while doing some repairs.

Side note / Idea. How about having a pinball repair and or staging area away from the general free play section. If your machine is going to take awhile to fix have an area to pull it and work on it. This way it won't cause congestion and or interfere with other people playing games nearby. I know while I was working on Striker I had a guy playing Harley and it was less than comfortable for either of us.

I played it Chris. You have a VERY VERY NICE sample of the game. Thanks for bringing it!

Thank you! It worked out well for me because I bought it from Ivan. He brought it with all the other games he brought, and was nice enough to set it up for me.

It has some drop target issues. I revuilt the assembly today and something is still off, but it is working better. Loving the game so far. Maybe because it's new to me, or maybe because it's AWESOME!! Some of the best DMD animations.

I was looking at buying the Corral sitting right next to one of the No Fear pins. The entire time I was at the Corral (which was a few times throughout the day) the No Fear was a few people deep. Everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun with that game.

There is a dedicated spot in the Free Play area at Pintastic just for that. You could pull and work on 6 machines there. We're trying to think of everything.

Loved the idea Ivan put in place for the inside flea market. He dedicated a small area for free play for us. Best part is they could be taken down as soon as they were sold and removed from the show. Only a couple of us took advantage of it.

Allentown is awesome...PERIOD! And Ivan and his staff do an AMAZING job of making Allentown the great show that it is. I thank each and every one of them for working so hard to put together such an awesome event every year. Allentown ROCKS!!!

i totally disagree. A man of good taste, would know BSD is very challenging and you can stack multi balls I only see this game gaining in popularity.

I am a man of good taste. BSD is my favorite game in my collection. i think sound effects/music has as much to do with it as anything. I don't see that mentioned alot but it's what got me hooked playing it on ps3. Had to have it and it will never leave unless i find a perfect one.

Yes. I've played BSD on the Pinball Arcade on my iPad and PS4 more than any other game I've bought. Definitely want the real deal.

First time at Allentown and had a great time! Hope I can make it again next year.

I was thinking about the EATPM that was next to the Dr Dude, but they disappeared around 4pm Saturday. Anyone know if they sold, or were just taken home?

I didn't say it was overhyped not sure how u got that as a quote from me?I took up for it if you go back and read my posts and said itsxa great deal at 3 k compared to most 4and 5k pins

Read post 874 u somehow messed up the quote and put it under my name lol

I had a great game on bsd last night and I think if someone who didn't currently like the game had the game I had, it would instantly change their mind

#893 4 years ago

My wife couldn't stop playing the BSD there. She's now made it quite clear that it is the next machine I'm buying.

They started at $2700 for that, then $2550 I believe. I doubt anyone grabbed it, the cabinet decals were really bad. The playfield needed a good cleaning but was pretty nice. He said he just took it in as a trade, so I don't know how it played or if it had any other issues.

I've played BSD on pinball arcade too, but I thought it was a drain monster. On a real BSD, that was very much not the case, much to my pleasant surprise.

Did it have the original Lightning Flippers or standard replacements? Makes a bit of a difference.

Honestly, I don't remember--I didn't realize it was a common modification. It doesn't look like I snapped a photo of it either.

In any case, most of my drains happen in the outlanes, rather than SDTM.

#898 4 years ago

One of the BSD machines at Allentown had lightning flippers, the other one had standard flippers on it. The game is a heck of a lot easier with standard flippers.

fixed that for ya!

#900 4 years ago

Did the BSD on the end of the row have the lightening flippers? I walked up to the game with my friend in tow telling him,"This game kicks my ass every time!" I then put up a high score of 300 million! For ONCE I had a good game on this damn pin that usually mocks me. Just wondering if it was the game with the shorter flippers?
