Quoted from dasvis:Evan Williams is my regular brand. A good every day affordable whiskey.
Once many moons ago I was riding round the back roads with Tommy Williams listening to Hank Williams while we drank Evan Williams. Good times
Quoted from Mudflaps:Went to get a bottle of Midleton today until I saw the price. $300, yikes! I picked up a Black Barrel Jameson instead. [quoted image]
8 bottles of Midleton or 1 Ghostbusters topper. Easy choice for me.
Quoted from Daditude:[quoted image]
Yeah tonight is bottoms up (up, up)
Get 'em up
Tonight is bottoms up (up, up)
Get 'em up
Quoted from Jackontherocks:How is that one and the color, wanted to try of course
I purchased it for a gift and only had one shot that I sipped before I started on my Apple Pie. I did like it, a slight sweet taste and a hint of burned sugar and not a lot of deep wooden notes in it. My wife doesn't drink whiskey and had a shot too. She said it was smooth. Plus after I did my shot I said that I'll be getting myself a bottle on my next visit to ABC store.
For a late night Saturday or early Sunday are any of those bottles open?
Quoted from EJS:Also today the stash grew by one bottle as seen on the left. Some are off topic to this thread but hopefully worthy of being included.

Quoted from ATLPinGuy:I need to post pictures... picked up a Pikesville Rye to kickoff the weekend. Gets great reviews so I am looking forward to trying (I normally do not like ryes).
As I mentioned previously I love, love, love the Makers cask strength. I hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
I've just started get out my comfort zone and trying new to me whisky & whiskey. Now on list for next week, Pikesville Rye & Maker's Mark 46 & Jim Beam Devils Cut. No I'm not drinking alone. I like to share.
Quoted from Spiderpin:I got this so the family (21 & older) can do a shot in memory of granny's birthday. She was born in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee in 1926.
[quoted image]
Big time Caramel taste. Toast to granny complete before dinner. Now it's Apple Pie time.

If you wait to long someone else will be toasting to you, with your bottle.
Live for today. Cheers
Quoted from Daditude:Here ya go![quoted image]
Looks like "the good stuff" is on the other side.
Quoted from RonSS:Tried some New Riff Single Barrel last night. Started off with a Manhattan...either I'm not making it right or this is a waste of alcohol! Probably the former.
Had a glass on the rocks later, seemed smooth enough. I'll need another test soon to be certain.
[quoted image]
I see Proper Twelve did a photo bomb.
Quoted from Daditude:I cant believe how difficult it is to find blantons or eagle rare these days. I havent seen blantons on a shelf anywhere in about 2 years and no eagle rare for about a year.
I did find both using Va. ABC website, eagle rare 47 miles away (2 bottles) and blantons 74 miles away
(1 bottle). If I didn't have so much to do today, road trip!
Quoted from guitarded:Can't find Blanton's anywhere near me. They even put limits on the bottles bars can buy up here...fortunately, Eagle Rare makes an appearance every few months.
Limits here too. 1 bottle per customer a day for both Eagle Rare and Blanton's and other's as well.
Quoted from Jackontherocks:Whose Siberian Husky dog in the photo on wall? Love those dogs and had one for a long time growing up.
That my daughter's Siberian Husky. But I think at times the Husky likes me more.
Quoted from parsonsaj:Thank you Daditude for the implicit recommendation! Went to the local liquor store today to get the double oaked and look what else I found! Haven’t seen Weller available on the shelf in a long time!
The double oaked IS amazing....[quoted image]
To get Weller where I live. Copy and Paste from website: "This product will be distributed via lottery." I'm guessing that's how rare it is here.
Quoted from Daditude:I've added some beer in as well, but here is the next tasting:[quoted image]
That glass has me like I need to grab it before it falls over.
I rounded up a herd of Buffalo this week. Had to ride out to a few stores to get them. All Buffalo Trace in this state was were gone by next day. Picked up Rebel a few weeks ago. It will be opened in time. Last night it was Crown Royal's Salted Caramel turn.
20210404_100255-1 (resized).jpg20210404_100314 (resized).jpgQuoted from DBLM:Finishing out my basement and just got my liquor cabinet in. Say hello to The Vault. 4 ft tall, 4 ft across, 2 ft deep of industrial storage. Not a single Buffalo Trace product to be found.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Man I need a better set up. I repurpose a old case shelves
20210412_154616-1 (resized).jpgQuoted from t2:My buddy just became COO of his company. What would be a good celebratory bottle of bourbon for him? Something smooth for none bourbon guys to enjoy in a toast?
Jack Daniels 27 Gold
20210130_175650-1 (resized).jpgNo night caps for me this weekend. Working to many hours. I did pick up a couple that I have yet to try. I'll be ready for the next weekend.
Quoted from KongDonkey:Thank you Spiderpin ! Just wanted to give a shout-out to a great pinsider and seller. Picked up a super clean WPT from him today and he was a stand up guy. Having some makers mark and pinball is the best way to finish off a night!
[quoted image]
Enjoy the game KongDonkey and have a shot for me.
And I did offer y'all a shot while you were here. Haha
Quoted from Jackontherocks:Missing the barrel proof great stuff[quoted image]
I'll pick it up before Friday. Picture or it didn't happen.
Quoted from Jackontherocks:Ok you will love it or it’s all mine
[quoted image]
Ok just added... But look your one up on me. I did buy all that store had 20 miles from my regular store.

Quoted from Bax1:so question for ya fellas. I have an opportunity to get bookers for 99.99. how is it and is it worth it? This would be the most I have spent for a bottle.
I myself have not tried it. But it's on my list when it, if it shows up at a store near me. But any bottle I buy for $99.99 I have and will drink if I like it or not. I've just started buying Whiskey / Whisky that I've never tried. With that said I'll drink to that!
Quoted from Jackontherocks:Ok you have the 129 proof but now need to find new batch 133 proof, zoom in on past pic
Dang I got the cheep stuff. I'll try harder next time. There were only 10 bottle in a fifty mile radius and I got two bottles the closest to me (20 miles). I'm on a mission now.
Quoted from Daditude:Try the Evan Williams single barrel (if you haven't already). It is a staple in my bar.
I haven't tried it yet, but have two bottles.
Quoted from embryonjohn:What’s the general consensus regarding Clyde May’s lineup of spirits?
I have two Whiskeys of his but haven't got to them yet.
16236720986957628435316517460627 (resized).jpgQuoted from Daditude:I picked up a bottle of old elk on a recommendation from a friend. Has anyone else tried it?[quoted image]
I had a Va. ABC store pick Old Elk in my hands one day but didn't buy it. Came back a couple days later and it was gone. How was it?
Well I went from this to this. Only after no one wanted or could use China Hutch from my Mother-in-law who pass away in 2018. Just didn't want to see it get donated, yet. Now when they see it they'll be like, why didn't I think of that. I'll be thinking "You don't have a collection, I do". A toast to my Mother-in-law, Cheers
20211001_192609 (resized).jpg20211017_225632-1-1 (resized).jpgQuoted from Daditude:I'm enjoying some NFL football and enjoying Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof
Plus 1 for the JD single barrel
Quoted from EJS:Can we get a close up of that shot glass? That’s awesome!
Looks like something from a Doctor's Superscription. One Shot a Day?
Quoted from Daditude:I like bourbon. A lot. ....but there's no way I would stand in line for 3 1/2 hours for a bottle. I tip my cap to you sir.
I too though Three hours was a lot and question myself. But two people got there 2 hours before the store closed the night before to get a bottle of George T Staggs. 1 bottle per person. To that I said no way I'll drink whats on the shelf when I get there.
Quoted from lazySUNBATHER:Some of my favorite things…drink well friends.
[quoted image]
So lazySUNBATHER you only have tan on one side? To lazy to turn over. That's one bottle that I seam to miss. Cheers and Enjoy
Quoted from rod90:I have taken a liking to Jim Beam honey. The grocery store ran low and the switched to plastic bottles. They ran out of that and have not replenished. I have tried the orange and the apple, and they both are terrible. A local liquor store has the plastic bottles on clearance. Having a high ball of that on the rocks is so nice. What is with finding something that you like, and they discontinue it?
Must be just your state, Va. Has a case in almost every store. Sounds like you need to do a Road Trip.
Quoted from rod90:Plastic bottles or glass? The grocery store was out and then the plastic bottles showed up. And now they are out of both.
Glass is what I have. I just was at ABC store for a limited release 3 hours ago. Will see if they have glass or plastic tomorrow when I go back to get another release.
Quoted from rod90:Plastic bottles or glass? The grocery store was out and then the plastic bottles showed up. And now they are out of both.
Jim Beam Honey Bourbon in glass bottles 750 ml $14.99
The last bottle of Blanton's I purchased, The only reason I got it was because they were out of what I was looking for. Then the cashier said we have 1 bottle of Blanton's left, I said ok I'll take it as if it was a burden. Took it home and put it in the closet. Price in Va. $59.99 I believe

Looks like a Happy New Year.
