My Buddy and I do a Youtube Channel Called Whiskey Pop. We are going to do reviews on inexpensive bourbon this month. Already picked them out. I think it’s interesting at how price doesn’t mean good or bad. Kaiyo Japanese whiskey is the most scotch like of all the ones we have tried. The down side is it’s pricey.

Do ya’ll have a favorite budget whiskey. So far mines Jim Beam Single Barrel.

Im not sure what the budget is exactly, but my cheapest whiskies that get regularly restocked in my bar are old gran-dad and old overholt rye. If the names didnt give it away, both have been around for a VERY long time and have interesting stories as well. Go check them out on google. Seriously. You wont be disappointed.
But we did our shoot today and we actually shot several episodes and we did have Old Overholt Bottle and Bond as well as old grand dad bottle and bond. I have to say old overholt was my favorite. Even over the old tub. Interesting fact doc Holliday was supposedly a big fan of old overholt. Of course this was the standard rye whiskey not bottle in mind because that didn’t come around to the ball and bond act of 18 something a rather. I do think it’s safe to say that a budget whiskey can definitely find its place among some of the more pricey Whiskeys available
