You forgot the last Castle.

Oh there's more? I got to the 12m castle I think.

Now I can smash the boat instead!!

You might not like either of them, but I do.

Oh, I do like them both ... Just haven't had the chance to play either of them much.

I've had a couple of good games on POTC but there is a lot more that I havent seen.

There was a four player game at IFPA10 in Germany that went for like 1 1/2 hours .. Right through the dinner break. They were smashing it.

I almost bought in a POTC myself last year. But the guy couldn't get it to the depot for me.

Sold mine a couple of years ago. Very enjoyable game. One of the more played games at parties.

I love the LEDS you used. Did you use any iced blue?

Well, following up from my above posts, I got a little more game time on POTC this weekend.

Firstly, I have to say that I'm not a fan of modded machines, but PaulOz's POTC looks freaking cool. It has like a dark green texture powder on the rails and legs, and some tasteful extras. Everyone knows I hate toppers but even the timber plank look topper suits the game. Maybe he will post some pics.

After 5 mins of play, I realised that POTC is really "Nordmans greatest hits". Dr Dude mixmaster, Dr Dude gift of the gab shot (trunk) Party Zone "way out of control" lanes to the side .. There were others to.

I only got a few games in (both on Pauls and a standard one on Sunday) but I see LOTRs ball times on this game. I got 200m on Sunday, I guess that was a 20-30 minute game? Seemed to go on for a long time. On another game I had 99m on my first ball and then the power fuse blew at the house, so that was the end of that game!

So yeah, a fun game with deepish rules. Look forward to playing it some more.

eye candy - finally finished

This game has stayed in my collection the longest. Great theme, great rules and fun overall game.

For those that complain about long ball times - increase the pitch, open the outlanes, and adjust extra balls so they don't give em out like candy. I also set kraken to hard and Davy jones to easy. Think the longest game I've had on mine is 15 mins - perfect! No 4 winds yet - I either don't kill Davy jones or don't complete heart mb. I do em both, just not in the same game.

I find it hard to modify machines when they are not mine to modify.

Agree though. A few of my older machines were too easy (sorcerer and firepower2 come to mind..)

Simply removing the rubber off the out lane post turned them into short games. Easy as that.

I completed Davy Jones in the 200m game. I got Davy Jones champ, 26m I think? Sound right? Memory is failing.

I get the sense that admitting to liking POTC is akin to enjoying Neil Diamond: neither is considered very cool. POTC is one of the favourites in my collection. I just did a full LED treatment with colour matched LEDs and with the lights out, it looks fantastic. It is a great game for casual players and guests. The ruleset is straight forward and most shots are not too difficult. There may be some snobbery involved in its lowish ratings: Disney theme, Stern game, fake Johnny Depp voice overs. It is a very underrated game.

Will post some pics tomorrow.

Mine is not set up that easy. Wont be many 20min games on this one and I like it that way. Don't think Davey Jones has been reached on this one yet but the challenge is there.

I am on my second POTC. I regretted selling the first because it was so popular with family and friends. Found an even nicer (than the first) HUO with less than 800 plays. This one is staying in the collection.

They can say whatever they want. I'll be play'n Pirates forever in blue jeans. Proud to be a new POTC owner. Every time I play it I enjoy it more. Put some silverjet pinballs on it with a clean playfield and then tell me it's easy. Never boring, lots of fun, and always puts a smile on my face, good game or bad.

For anyone wondering if the Flipper Fidelity speaker system sounds good in POTC I can say definitely yes. I've had my POTC for a few months now and one of the first things I did was upgrade the speakers using the Flipper Fidelity speaker kit with 10" subwoofer. The extra bass from the subwoofer really helps give game events, such as cannons firing, a greater impact. The upgraded speakers also make in game sounds more clear and crisp. I really notice the improvement the upgraded speakers provide when I switch between playing POTC and my ACDC Premium which has stock speakers and subwoofer.

I'm A Believer. Break out the Cracklin' Rosie, fire up POTC and I am the Solitary Man.

Another title I'd LOVE to own. My wife loves the game from all the times she's played it, too.

Quoted from rai:

Only thing, an airball can land on the plastic in front of the ship by the spotlight. Impossible to shake loose, I solved this by a suggestion here on Pinside with a dremmel by shaving the plastic so that it creates an escape hole for this trap.

I've had a couple balls land inside the ship mech

just added some dead drop foam to the back of a couple targets to stop air balls- left side trunk, right side ship shot.

Also on the lane guide (and above piano wire} to the right of the extra ball shot (air balls off right side ship shot target were some times ricocheting up off those spots)

Never thought of this, I've never beat Davie Jones. So I need to try that on easy.

Why do you recommend setting Kraken to hard?

My deal is that I've never beat Davy Jones and Rarely beat Heart MB. What exactly is the rules for Heart MB?
