Does it still blow a fuse when the playfield is kicked up in the service position? If not, check the two coin slot light bulb sockets just above the coin door on the edge of the playfield. Sometimes these sockets bottom flap can be touching the metal lock down bar plate when the playfield is lowered into place.
Glad to hear your King of Diamonds is back up and playing.Your machine looks so clean from the picture of the ball count unit you posted. I can’t wait to see many more pictures of your game, it looks like a clean original?
King of Diamonds is at the top of my list as my favorite wedgehead. I remember playing it in the Casino Pier Arcade on Seaside Hts NJ boardwalk back in 1968. Most of my quarters went into this game because I knew I could beat it for replays and stretch my $2 a day that I had in my pocket.
