The weekend project, a WhiteStar MPU with pretty severe alkaline corrosion. When I first looked at the board, I thought it was a marginal repair candidate. But, it's a WhiteStar board, which are tough to source these days, so I pressed on.
It's turning out better than I thought it would.
The prior "tech" had done a craptastic job of abating the alkaline, broken traces prying a socket off, etc.
It should be good as new, with a nice SuperCap or NVRAM installed later today.
