Does anyone know what the red insert in the very middle of the playfield is for? It is not identified with a lamp number in the manual and there is no text printed on the playfield near it? This insert is always lit on my Alien Star during gameplay yet I see videos on youtube that show it on and off... but can't figure out why? I'd like to know what transistor on the driver board controls it but it is not identified in any way on the schematic. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Well that sure explains it. I never even considered that an insert could be linked to GI lighting. Maybe I can put a slow fade or fire bulb in there. Will play around with it.
