To "delete" generic USB3 hardware and revert to USB2 would likely cost More, not less (and for no need or reason). That would be the reason why it is there even though not utilised.

A bit random but - I just heard Hudson shout out ' we're in some real pretty shit now man' for the first time ever whilst playing Alien - what triggered this was a 'TILT' of the Alien machine. I just thought it would be cool if it could also be a shout out at the end of the APC game for an unsuccessful attempt on the second phase.... (if I am remembering this correctly). Just an idea, it was great to hear this comment!!!
Could this somehow be incorporated into the next update?!

So the issue is: when you loose a ball (it drains), you get a new one. Always. It never stops giving new balls.
When one drains, you get one back.
Only with 1.3, not with 1.2

I had this exact issue for a long time. I never went to 1.3 though. I think i may have fixed it as my #1 IO wouldnt update to .9 either for the longest time. But i just tried again with another flash drive and a fresh download of the 1.2 software from weir, and this time it updated. So i went through each IO board and reupdated all even though they were already .9s. The issue seems to have gone away now after all this time. See if that helps

Brian, if it is a matter of money, I am sure our little Alien-Community would be willing to pay for all your work and effort. A full working last update would be great.
We found out so many small things and the community is so active on Alien, it would be great to bring this to a perfect end.

I apologize for the delay. I have been busy with other things, but I do intend to get back to this soon. 1.3 was a solid release, but I've gotten a lot of good feedback and 1.4 will fix a small number of additional bugs found by the community. I'll post here again when it's been fully tested and ready.

Also now that it is working I wanted to ask if there is instructions for doing the flipper coil swap.
- Add adjustment "SWAP L. SLING/FLIPPER COIL" (default: NO), for owners who
wish to rewire their games by swapping the coil numbers for the left
slingshot and the left flipper. This eliminates the buzzing noise from the
left flipper when held.
I have been hunting around and can find lots of references but no instructions.
Can anyone help me out with this?

Software revision 1.4 is the latest and still available... fully functional working.
Latest rulesheet was also released, but hat no new content regarding software update because gameplay is still the same.
