I'm glad to hear that this game is getting some repro love, but it's difficult to want to invest in a PF when my backglass is crap. If I knew a BG was forthcoming, I'd be more interested.

Quoted from Buthamburg:PPS is making the Backbox Glass and plastic sets.
Just to back this up, I found my thread requesting the AP backglass on the PPS forum and see that Rick posted this in May:

If this game is getting BG and PF reproduced, I'm in!
Pretty awesome!
Quoted from PPS:And here is the original artwork from films that Peter will be using ...
That text on the lower 4 inserts is supposed to be white. I noticed the recent playfield overlay that was made available had those incorrectly printed as black.
Do you have a rendering of what the PF will look like?
PPS shared the Alien Poker screens with a vendor who created an overlay, but the overlay is incorrect in some areas, specifically the text on the lower blue inserts on the overlay is black instead of white.
Quoted from Buthamburg:Hello to all
The rest of the milling is done after printing. If the cut outs are to big, it is very disturbing while printing, often messes up
the silk screen.

Thanks for sharing info about the process.
It's interesting that milling happens in phases like that. Is there a benefit to milling some of the holes prior to printing rather than just milling and installing inserts first?
Quoted from PPS:PPS have received Peter's Alien Poker plafields and now have them in stock ... www.planetarypinball.com
Is shipping extra? What are typical shipping rates within the US for playfields?
My awesome wife surprised me with one of these for my birthday the other day!
It was ordered from PPS, and it was given to me in their original shipping package. I got through all the layers and my heart sank when I realized they accidentally sent me a BOP playfield instead. They were awesome and had a new PF shipped out the day I contacted them about it. Kudos to PPS for a quick resolution. I got the correct AP pf today and it looks great!
I look forward to installing it.
Now that I've got plastics, BG and pf, I'm going to have to seriously consider cabinet restoration.
Quoted from vec-tor:Looking over the playfield... I wish Buthamburg could have changed the order of silkscreens.
I would love to see what the playfield would have looked like if the aquamarine blue went on first before
the florescent green. Their are two planets that the details are lost. The blue is too strong of a color
for the green. Maybe Buthamburg could make the green decals for the two planets... Just a thought.
Great playfield overall.
I'm inclined to think they did the layering correctly per the originals. I can't even see any green coming through the largest planet on my original pf, so I guess it got covered on that one, too.
