These boys are certainly getting their "A" into "G" that's for sure, theme of the decade for me.
Sleeping pod physical ball locks then florescent lights (effect) comes on and multiball wakes up.
Land on planet mode with a lot of "green screen" action on the monitor.
Then smooth shift over to Aliens where pops are Auto Sentry's and you have to give up your clips and go bug hunting with just a squirt gun (sorta lights out with jerky light cues).

Exciting possibilities galore.

Agreed, it has to try and be all things to all modes, it could be surrounded by programmable lighted inserts which interact with the monitor and the mode, for example if a line went across the middle of the playfield then through the monitor it could represent the players pulse/heartbeat. This would be great for hurry up modes as well, it could also enhance the "framing" of the monitor in whatever mood/mode is going on as well. Flat-lining would clearly be met with the "Game over man, what the f*ck are we gunna do now" line

In my view it would be pretty hard to balls-up an Alien/s themed pinball machine given the amount of awesome "on tap" source material, not impossible but it would take a special kind of effort to get this one badly wrong. If Dennis has given the project a good steer then I wouldn't panic too much about its potential, it really comes down to HP's commitment and investment to the finished product.

Just hope they don't cut any corners to meet an over optimistic deadline.

I thought that an egg-pod animation would/could be shown opening up to shoot pinballs out for multiball and or virtual locks etc.....locked balls shimmering in the pod so-to-speak (sounds rude but you get what I mean eh)?
