David Thiel was dropping truth bombs in the seminar today.

#8224 2 years ago
Quoted from Alphajerk3000:

Any more info? Is it posted somewhere?

Not sure. He was relating past employment experiences.

#8238 2 years ago
Quoted from iceman44:

So what were the F ing truth bombs? Is it that hard?

Simmer down you drunk. I'm playing pinball.

It's nothing about alien. Just a few jabs at a competitor.

Quoted from Pimp77:

If he said in there he wouldn't care if you said it here...why the secrecy?

No secrecy.

It was about how he got involved with alien. He related that he is a contract employee and as such doesn't get paid until his work is complete. He was working on a competing pinball project that was supposed to be 10 months but when the project takes 26 months with no end in sight, he can't finish his work so he can get paid. He told his current contract he had to seek additional work (aliens) so he could pay the plumber. Poor deliberate planning or something to that effect.

Quoted from Air_Pinball:

How in the hell did Stern get her likeness for Ghostbusters? You know they didn't shell out extra for her.

My guess different times, different contract stipulations.

That video was awesome. Mode looks fun and the video ads to the suspense. My only fear is I would be watching the cut scenes. They looked beautiful on either screen. Well done Andrew and team.

Quoted from HeighwayPinball:

Our latest YouTube video was shot today from our production line.
The gameplay video is still in the pipeline, and will be released soon.

I want one of those rotisseries. Someone makes them because jjp and stern use similiar ones. How does a layperson get their hand on one?

#10631 2 years ago
Quoted from Toads:

Design watch you need and have an engineering shop make it up.
I'm sure that's what Heighway or Stern or JJP would have done.

Amazing I didn't think of that.

Quoted from iceman44:

but my fickle nature took over and stayed in!

Fear not newer pinside members; I speak fluent iceman.

"Fickle nature" = Drunk iceman

You're welcome.

Quoted from spfxted:

I just wanna see the Alien Tongue Thingy snatch the ball!

I like that you worked "tongue", "thingy" and "snatch" into a sentence.

The backglass looks great but I thought aurich was doing the art on the LE as well. I see Andrew made it a point of naming the artist responsible for doing it. I'm just curious of the change. Maybe I missed that Brian Allen was doing the art on the Le. If so, my apologies.

I was hoping to play aliens at Allentown to see how it has progressed since I played it at expo. Unfortunately, it was down from about 1:30ish until I left the hall at 3:30. One thing that I noticed that I didn't notice before was the power cord is plugged into the bottom near the front of the pin. I like the accessibility but don't know if I like the cord laying on the ground under the pin like that. Not a big deal, just never noticed it before.

Quoted from fosaisu:

No comment on the pertinence of his Paypal account analysis, but my first thought was "wow, Heighway has lost one of their biggest boosters." And then I remembered that it's DP he's relentlessly positive on. Doesn't mean he's wrong here, of course, but a funny contrast.

That's exactly what I thought. The 180 is astonishing.

Quoted from wcbrandes:

Are the "new people" taking on the assets and liabilities of Highway or are they ditching the company and taking the assets

This is really the main question that needs answering as Bill astutely is asking. I would temper enthusiasm until the new group answers it.

Quoted from Tsskinne:

If anyone wants to try playing Alien come to Indiana. It's on location now.

64 credits. You had a high roller playing I see.
